This place was very decent the first time I went for dinner with my girlfriend. However, I went back for dinner with my girlfriend, her mom and brother and it was an unpleasant experience. The waitresses was sloppy, only put in two out of the four orders and the food was not good. Simply awful
One of my favorite Greek spot in Astoria! I like that its near Astoria Park, very chill atmosphere, staff is always nice and DELICIOUS GREEK FOOD! ?
Gregory's Taverna is probably the best Greek food of its class in Astoria... which pretty much means NYC and maybe even the US. They offer traditional Greek fare you would find visiting Greece outside the tourist spots. Eating the food took me back to summer vacations in Greece when we would hit all the spots my family there would rave about. The atmosphere is cozy and has a classic feel to it, so great spot for a relaxing lunch or date night.
We have been coming to this place for years because the vibe is so fun and the food is to die for! Order the grilled octopus and lemon potatoes! Everything is amazing and you really can’t go wrong!
Food looked better than it tasted. Was hyped from the reviews, but wasn’t super impressed. Got the Greek salad with shrimp, the shrimp were extremely over cooked. Came Sunday evening, so maybe that’s part of it…?
Everything was delicious. The fried whiting with garlic mash potatoes was phenomenal and I even learned that I like sweetbreads.
Authentic, homemade, and excellent food. Had a wonderful experience. ???
Homemade Greek food cooked to order. Love it!
Ordered the seafood platter for 2 and a combination dip whose name i forget (3 different dips with 2 stacks of small triangular pita slices). We dined in and got a complimentary serving of bread and another dip. Everything was awesome and fun, with lots of variety. Would happily come back and order the exact same thing
Honestly, I'm so confused because this restaurant is in articles and has rave reviews, but it was truly some of the worst Greek food I have ever had. The dips were extremely bizarre and almost inedible. The meat dishes extremely dry. My friend saw the waiter put our food in the microwave, including the saganaki. Are there two of these restaurants with the same name? Nothing was fresh. The pita was burnt, and I even like charred dishes. Could not pay me to return here.
