I came here tonite for the first time for a co-worker reunion dinnerThe inside is very beautiful and relaxing even tho very busyWe were a party of 5 and were seated and taken care of right awayI ordered the Anitpasto Mozzarella CapreseWhen the waiter brought it to me - it was in a platter a foot long - I said “ this is for ME?”This was enough to feed the whole table !!It was such a beautiful work of art I didn’t want to eat it!However I did and it tasted as amazing as it looked !Then for my main course I ordered the Chicken SorrentinoThis is chicken layered with prosciutto , eggplant and topped with mozzarella - I chose pasta as a side that comes with the dinnerWhen it was served to me there were two very huge pieces of chicken on that plate - again enough to feed 4 people and I swear they gave me a whole pound of ziti in my side dish !Now I have recently eaten Chicken Sorrentino in two other very well known restaurants and Gino’s tops them 100%!!The other places served this dish in a brown sauce - Gino’s did not ,however, whatever sauce they put around the chicken was so delicious - I will now not eat this dish anywhere else but at Gino’s !!Everyone there was so attentive and friendly - made me feel like I eat there everyday for years and years!Thank you Gino’s for this wonderful first time experience and to the friendly waitstaff !
This place has come a long way. I remember when the oven sides were on the left side upon coming in. I remember the phase when during the expansion process, they wouldn't favor people eating in if they were just having slices as much as they were favoring people who were there to peep the menu and have some of those fine dining dishes..... I remember nervously ordering as a teen and would get this look like they were mad at me for no reason.... I remember my Dad being known and loved by the staff until one day he came in with my crazy Uncle.I've been going to this place since I was a child, and as a Brooklynyte, I'm ashamed to admit that my favorite Pizza spot is in Queens. Whenever I say it's in Cross bay boulevard, people automatically assume I'm talking about New Park, I immediately shut that down and evaluate if I still want to be friends with that person.Gino's has continuously evolved, even through the current pandemic, and as long as they didn't lose the flair to their taste as they continue to grow in their service, they will always get a 5 star review from me. If there is anything taken from this review that seemed negative to anyone, the only thing they should take from this is that this place is built and serviced by humans. Most of the staff there chose this place as their life career. It's crazy having that be your 1st and last job doing front of house hospitality. We should never take that lightly. Can't wait to bring the lady-friend there
Has been a place I've visited often. It's still good, the kitchen just needs to work a little harder and not take shortcuts. Otherwise the pizzas are awesome. The service is great. I generally really like coming here when I'm by Howard Beach.
I’ve been going here since I was a kid so at least for the past 30 years. They have the hands down best chicken roll in the city. For some reason no one else can get it as good as they do. Their pizza is also always fresh and tasty. And their sandwiches are great too. They definitely stepped it up in the past ten years. It’s gorgeous on the inside as well. Definitely a neighborhood staple.
They are the best food and owners in the area. I was able to place an order for Christmas eve after being told they have over 200 orders to fill!!! He still took my order and the food was gorgeous magnificent. You would never guess anyone else even had an order!!! A TON of exquisite food for an amazingly reasonable price!!! The owner actually helped me order off the menu a special request. I LOVE GIVING THIS BUSINESS MY MONEY!!!
I accidently Gino's a four star rating, when I meant to give them a FIVE star rating.Their food is excellent. I've only eaten in once or twice, but I do get takeout at least once a week while working EMS. Their pizza is amazing and their staff is VERY courteous. If you're looking for great pizza... This is the place for you!A huge THANK YOU to the staff at Gino's!
You can tell the business is solely ran on greed. Used to be a favorite & over the years the place has really lost its touch. Sadly picked up an order yesterday, mostly all staff + front girls, all really nice, except for the manager/higher up.Would not have made a big deal (even though it is one) but the way manager/owner runs business, really left my experience distasteful. Unfortunately, not one person wears a mask or a hair net. Drove 40 minutes home, to open my calamari tray to not ONE freshly fallen out hair on my lemon wedges, but also another tossed along the edge of the tray. When I called the establishment for a refund, they told me to come back with my order for a new meal.., as if hair in my food is not an inconvenience enough, when I explained I could not, they tried to sell me on store credit…..Why would a business owner ever think a customer would want to come back after just finding hair in their food….??no one wants to spend $40 on a Friday night meal for there family, only to find hair(s) in the meal. The manager refused to get on the phone and had the poor girls frantically try to diffuse the situation with me by telling me to come back for a new made order. After 15 minutes of back and forth with the girls and them literally telling me “The manager only wants to give store credit” Sadly, the second I mentioned my friends over at the health department, my refund was quickly returned, currently still pending, so I am giving the restaurant a few days to make sure it goes back into my account. Will never return & have gotten a lot of feedback from my friends in HB who have also said the restaurant has long gone lost their business.Shout out to Paris, the young girl who handled the situation and kindly returned my money. I appreciated her calm demeanor and her thorough execution to make sure I got my refund.ANY excuse regarding COVID and the establishment being busy and/or understaffed in my opinion is false considering no protocols are taken inside of the restaurant & the high volume of orders are because they simply refuse to turn an order away to actually accommodate the ones they already have.SERIOUSLY makes me worry that during COVID they are asking for food back that was already in someone else’s possession, really makes me wonder if they are re-serving to other customers. Shame.
Amazing staff and kind staff.I'm vegan and they whipped me up a quick vegan pie
Had a pie of regular cheese pizza….the pizza is mediocre at the minimum. The pizza doesn’t have much sauce or flavor ….the pizza was kinda soft and chewy taste like it was cheap dough that is being used def not high quality not crispy at all was told many times by many people they just make OK Pizza but had to try it out for myself to see and they were right definitely no where near the best pizza in NY. I haven’t tried the rest of the menu so I can’t speak for the other items but if you call yourself a Italian restaurant and can’t make good pizza that’s a big red flag …they need more sauce and a ingredient called garlic…if you want good Italian rustic pizza I recommend Romeos Pizza in Ozone park on Liberty Ave or Sofias Pizza on Linden Blvd and RockawY
Bought 2 slices of pizza, $10.00!!...GETOuTTAhERE!!!Over rated! Can make better pizza on English muffins. Not worth it!
