My late wife loved this place, and introduced it to me 18 years ago. Been coming here on and off ever since. Tonight was the night I never thought I'd see - I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken, and it was now up to $15, which I guess is the norm now, post covid...except that it came in the SMALL 7" to-go dish! I've ordered dozens of these salads and have never gotten one in anything but a 9" aluminum dish before. To make it worse, whomever put it together must've literally counted the 2 kalamata olives I got. I love these most of all the ingredients, and there were only two. There were also only two small squares of Feta cheese, and I know i've gotten at least four decent sized chunks in every other Greek salad I've ever had. Somehow, I also got at least one whole (unwanted) radish, all sliced up, which I honestly don't recall ever seeing in any Greek salad I've ever had. And if one ever did contain radish, it was a couple slices tops, not 8 or 10 slices. Again, the food there is always delicious, and they usually feed you very well. So, I still cannot believe I just paid $15 for a small 7" pan of salad with only one skewer of grilled chicken...Now, I feel sadly forced to at least try the same item elsewhere, just to compare price and quantity...So sad...
The absolute best gyro in the TriState area Hands down! I’ve been eating at Fontana sense I was a kid and travel and hour to eat here all the time! It’s a must visit if your a New Yorker! Everything is made with that special homemade touch that you can tell has been passed down for generations! And at a reasonable price! Love love love this place ?
BEING GREEK MYSELF ..My first experience at Fontana's was when I was a little boy and my uncle who lived in Astoria took me and my brothers there on a special occasion.I have yearned for this place ever since and have returned on numerous occasions when I was in the area.In the decades that I have been returning I have not noticed any negative changes.The food and the service is as great as I remember it.IT'S AS GOOD AS IT GETS FOR THIS TYPE OF RESTAURANT.ENJOY !
This place is great if you're looking for great pizza and gyros. The portions are huge for what you pay for and the food is amazing. I've only ever dined it and haven't had to wait for seating or service. Waiters and waitresses make sure we're good from beginning to end ?
This place was a place famous for gyros during the time my parents lived there , so I took them back. It was very nice, a truly family oriented feel . The food was quite authentic.

The pizza and personal size pizza for one is so delicious. When you dine in and made to order piping hot to your table, worth the wait.
This place is legit! Great food and pretty huge portions! But that comes with pretty huge prices, unfortunately. That's my only complaint! Food is terrific, pizza is outstanding and the waitress was very attentive.

Love this place! The food is delicious and plentiful. (Best stuffed grape leaves.) You can't go wrong with anything you order. Their combo platters are perfect, such a great value. The staff is nice, and efficient. Gotta say it again- Love this place.
