One of the best cafeterias in the Queens area. Ginger chai latte is goooood!

The owner of this coffee place needs to pay attention to this laptop policy, which seems to be ridiculous for many of us. It’s a beautiful place but you should be more friendly about the laptop usage at the location. I spent a decent amount of money just because I needed to use the space and atmosphere and I wasn’t able to use my laptop at the table I was sitting. Some of us won't come back soon.
This is one of my favorite places in Jackson Heights. As other reviewers said it has a great atmosphere. I have never had an experience where I received attitude or felt unwelcome but the service is hit or miss, especially if neverto is at the counter then service most likely will be bad. A recurring problem seems to be that they have a soup of the day listed and if you order from the board you will be told 1) they are out of soup, 2) that is not the soup being sold today. I ordered Manhattan clam chowder which the soup of the day today on the board and received chicken corn chowder. As a customer I consider this bad customer service.
bagels are tasty and fresh, the lattes too. the customer service i find is a hit or miss. my only complaint is that a few of the times I have stopped by, the cashiers seemed to be annoyed/unwelcoming when I'm simply just placing an order..
I've loved coming here with my kids and friends since 2008. It's a great neighborhood meeting place with good lunch, interesting drinks (I love the banana soy shake!), really good rotating art on the walls, and quality live music on select nights. In the pandemic, the outdoor heated area has been a godsend.
I am so relieved to see that I am not the only one who thinks the baristas/cashiers have attitude/customer service issues. I thought I was being sensitive!I only write reviews when necessary. After my last experience at this place, I felt I needed to let the business owners know about their employees. Perhaps customer service retraining is needed! This is what happened, I was so livid after the experience I remembered the exact conversation.Picture this scenario: 2 young children, perhaps around 5 or 6 running around the establishment before 8 am in the morning. Going behind the counter and playing around.Me: Hi good morning!Barista/Cashier: low tone, not even turning to look at me since shes making a drink, not even coming up to the POS machine, "what can I get you?"Me: I'd like a matcha latte please, and do you have bagels ?Barista: yeah, what size latte? (attitude)Me: small please, what kind of bagels do you have?Barista: (annoyed tone) all of themI won't continue to bore you all, but what is all of them? how do you know if I frequent here? which I dont, this was my first time in 2 years. So how would I know what bagels you have? The flavors aren't listed, and what if I wanted say..pumperknickle? or whole wheat everything? I doubt you'd have that. I just felt like she could have at least listed a few and showed some customer service or showed some kind of help. Either way, didn't say thank you or anything. I was so unimpressed by the service here. The matcha latte with oat milk was pretty standard nothing to write home about, the bagel with cream cheese was actually pretty good!So sad to say the customer service here is lacking. Especially after such a hard year in the service industry, the owners need to retrain ASAP! And having kids running around the store is not safe...Having said all that, I would return for the food and maybe just tell her she could be nicer to her customers.
What a lovely place! Great treats and good coffee. Would be great it they could have put a sign on their website or store saying that you can’t work on your laptop at the weekend. We ended up needing to leave just after settling in which was not fun.
Also serves alcohol... The Iced chocolate kiss only one barista knows how to make it good. Card payment has a minimum of $7
The place is beautiful very vintage, it also has tables outside. The prices are very good! The carrot cake is my favorite, the iced teas, capuchinos, and the mango mint lemon frappe is delicious
