Hubby and I always liked getting breakfast foods and sandwiches/pastries from here. Just yesterday I ordered a turkey sandwich and a small soup and was astounded to find out it cost $18.50. Almost $20 for a ordinary turkey sandwich and a tiny soup in a cup. I’m sooo disappointed I understand inflation but I cannot justify paying $18.50 for this simple meal I could have made myself at home. This is not reasonable and I cannot support it. They told me the sandwich was $12 and change and I just- it just does not make any sense to charge that much for a sandwich that is not even a gourmet or specialty sandwich. Nice people, decent food, but way too expensive.
It was a rainy Sunday morning so I had the quintessential New Yorker craving for ✨Diner Food✨.As I walked in I was welcomed with a chorus of hellos and I couldn't help but to smile. I knew at this point, I want to be a regular here!I ordered a French Toast Special with scrambled eggs, ham and a green tea. It was delicious and tasted home made, not oily and not too sweet. I've had french toast at other diners before but this one is hands down my favorite, not too wet and not too eggy.
I went in for the first time and got an egg and cheese sandwich on toast and asked how much? the guy tells me $3.95. A day later I got charged more for the same sandwhich but still less than the price of the sandwhich on the menu. So I'm stuck confused as to how much the sandwich actually costs in case I want to come back and get the sandwhich again and not be surprised by a different price (I won't be returning). They use selective discount tactics to try and lure in business but don't expect the same discount when you become a repeated customer. They're food is WAY overpriced on the menu, they literally charge midtown Manhattan prices and aren't even open late like midtown Manhattan diners are.
Always warm and welcoming. Good food good service. A little pricier then before but worth it!!!
Nice people but pricing is horrible! They arbitrarily charge for food n drinks..if ur a repeat customer..they charge menu price…if ur not they charge xtra! Case in point my friend went in there for an sandwich and a bottle water…$10 for sandwich and $10 for water!!!!!!! Why!!!! I asked around and most of the people that work at the bus depot around the corner stays away from here..they had the same experience…so if the locals stay away …I would too!!
The soup, the pancakes, donuts and the sandwiches aree soooo goodd.
Great service! Nice old school spot
We loved coming here all the time the food is good and just the way you want it but when we went a few weeks ago for breakfast and got the bill it was a little to much then what we would normally pay for the same order.
Wonderful experience. The Disneyland of food. One of the best burgers in the city. Great service treated like royalty from the moment you step until you leave. Free donuts for your to go bag. Great food. Served with warm words and beautiful smiles.
Delicious. Excellent service. Your first visit is like heaven. They greet you with a smile and bless you with a treat before you go. One of the best burgers in NYC. Great coffee too. It is worth the trip out..
