We ordered some tamales for Christmas Eve, picked them up without an issue. The tamales were moist and the meat was tender. Will def come back

One of our favorite places for Mexican food take out in NYC. Try the tamales, Chile rellenos with rice for $5, chile relleno with rice and beans for $7, but what they are known for is the cafe de olla (specialty coffee with cinnamon and spices) and it's good! Don't do anything to it, try it black, because it's sweet as it is.

THE FOOD IS OK. I GIVE IT 1 STAR CAUSE OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THE STAFF IS VERY DRY I LIKED THE OLD STAFF BETTER THERE WAS THIS GIRL THAT USED TO WORK THERE I DON'T REMEMBER HER NAME SHE HAD LONG BLACK HAIR AND COLORED EYES SHE WAS SUPER FRIENDLY IF THEY KEEP HAVING DRY STAFF SORRY FOR THE BUSINESS.

Been here twice - yesterday (friday 12th) and today (Saturday 13th) and had such polar opposite experiences. Yesterday there was an older man working who was really nice. I couldn’t believe it when he said it was only $4 for a large coffee and a pan dulce. I was so impressed I went back today. The young people (teenage girl?) were incredibly slow and not friendly. Seemed more interested in judging customers than serving them. I ordered chilaquiles and let’s just say they were as painful coming out as they were going in :-/ lol.As other people have mentioned the service is incredibly slow. I was in a rush as I was in the middle of moving apartment and for one coffee and chilaquiles I waited about 20 minutes. I got tired of waiting so I approached the teenage guy and the teenage girl pipes up and says that my order has been sitting on the counter for the last 5 minutes. Ummm… then why didn’t you tell me!?I’m sure the other food is good like other people have mentioned and for the price it’s great for New York prices. However I’d suggest going mid-week when the friendlier older staff are working.

Authentic Mexican food. Recommended place to have a good meal. Only take out though. A+

Hands down the best mexican torta in Astoria. (The photo doesn't do it justice.) We moved here five months ago and had been looking for the right torta for a while, no places compares to Cafe de Olla. The quality of all the ingredients, the flavor.. absolutely perfect. Also, the tamales are meaty and delicious. This is a hidden gem. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and tasty tacos.

Food here is soo good. Very clean place. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend to friends ans family. Will come back again. True Mexican food!

The food is so good but always expect a wait. They take FOREVER And check your order before you leave. This morning I asked if they could make a burrito with sausage, egg, and cheese. Now they don’t have burritos on the menu but I asked if the could because they have tortillas. The girl said sure and here I am at school with a bacon, sausage, and egg on a roll with no cheese. We started calling our orders in ahead because the service is soooo slow- I’m talking 15-20 minutes for a bacon egg and cheese- but now our orders are incorrect a solid 50% of the time. But their food is always delicious. So go with plenty of time or call it in and check it before you leave

This spot never disappoints. I always get the tacos. Great portions for the price. $3/taco. Today I tried a small cup of the Consume de Chivo. Spicy and delicious broth. Could have used a bit more meat and less bone but still enjoyed it.
