The staff is friendly, and attentive. The menu prices, are very reasonable. It wasn't crowded, and I got my food kinda fast. The Meat Candy Burnt Ends are a popular choice for appetizer. It definitely tasted better with the sauce. I was suprised at how good the creamy Mac & Cheese were. It was on point. The Smoked BBQ sandwich was very good as well.
Had a great lunch in a great location. The candied burnt ends were amazing! I’ll definitely be back!
Got the poached eggs over hash, spring mix salad and toast. It was very tasty, though next time, I want to try the bbq.Simple, casual, but I recommend it.
The burt ends are worth the trip, my daughter lives in Astoria and everytime I visit I'm going to have to stop at the Butcher Bar for some Meat Candy. The creamy mac and cheese is also delicious.
One star for the lack of classyness of the gentleman who dare approached my partner after we waited an hour and half for a dry cold pulled pork sandwich which I refused to eat. Not only Did it take 30 minutes to get 2 fountain sodas to our table, not only did my sons chicken quesadillas come chicken less, but all that to make a scene in the restaurant that we are not welcome there any longer. Well good sir, I hope others who dare to eat at your establishment understand your class-less response to people who don’t agree with your service or food. Also they argued they couldn’t take the sandwich off the reciept, mind you I didn’t eat the sandwich with the exception of feeling the temperature of the meat, only to be able or find a way to remove the sandwich. So for a meal that usually takes UberEats to get to my house within an hour we sat in the establishment for close to 2 hours to get flat soda, a cold sandwich, and the wrong order provided to my son.
This place is for meat lovers and does not disappoint. The sangria was good. The food was delicious. The meat was so tender it fell off the bone. The spinach and brussels sprouts were really well seasoned. The ambience was nice. I would recommend.
Very friendly service. The food was good, but nothing stood out. The fall off the bone ribs weren't actually that tender. The mac & cheese was creamy, as advertised, but lacked the tang of cheese. The bread pudding was sugary, but the flavor was bland.
I truly don't understand the hype/rave reviews. Maybe because I'm spoiled from having recently eaten barbecue in the Carolinas or maybe because I visited the restaurant on a Tuesday at 8:30pm and that's just not when they do their best work? Whatever the case, the food here felt very just "meh."But let's start with some positives: service was great. It seemed like there were only two waitstaff on the floor (one primarily at the bar), and they were doing an excellent job at handling the 6/7 seated tables, plus bar clients. Drinks came out on time, recommendations were given, orders were placed correctly. 5/5 for service. Decor and ambiance were also pretty cool; everything on par with what you'd call ~swanky BBQ joint. We loved the cleaver (?) used as the door handle. We tried:"Fall off the Bone Sauced" Smoked Ribs1/4lb Pulled Chicken (Sauced)1/4lb Smoked Beef BrisketBrussels Sprouts w/ Applewood BaconApplewood Bacon Baked BeansCreamy Mac & CheeseCornbread w/ Honey ButterHouse Slaw & PicklesUnfortunately, by the time we got there, the burnt ends had run out.The ribs were incredibly tender; fall-off-the-bone as promised, but not quite "sauced just right," as they were drenched in sauce. The brisket, while also tender, was lacking in flavor, and the chicken was a little dry (additionally, didn't look very much like my idea of "pulled"). Of the sides, the Brussels sprouts were hands-down my favorite and the only side I would probably order again. The mac & cheese was dry, the cornbread chewy, and the baked beans were too vinegar-y for our tastes (and we weren't expecting the big chunks of onions and peppers). Even the slaw was a disappointment, as the cabbage was shredded into large pieces and didn't really have that "wet" feel of a good, mayo-based coleslaw. To top it off, nothing came out warm; and no one really wants to eat room-temp beans, mac & cheese, or meat. So, y'know, it was "meh."I wouldn't ever make it a point to return to Butcher Bar, but if I was brought here again, I'd be able to eat an okay meal.
I went there and I ordered a Bacon Burger, the Burger was unflavored but y Put 3 Star at least for the service, the waitress was so attentive. The bathroom was clean and the place was nice .
The place, people and employees were great! The food was excellent! Our server Christina was awesome and extremely knowledgeable. The drinks were great. The burnt ends on the appetizer menu are finger licking great! We had the Fall off the bone ribs and the skirt steak. EXCELLENT! The deserts are phenomenal! Had the banana putting, Bourbon glazed bread putting and the Grandma's recipe apple cake. OMG to all!.
