It is strange when you hear about discrimination and racism are terms that are used, however when you feel it directly then you really understand how painful those are. I was in Bourbon St last night, my fiance had been traveling for a couple of weeks so we were celebrating that he was back home finally. We were in the main area (first floor) and he thought it was going to be fun to dance some Shakira that I like. He put money in the jukebox and we started dancing. A small group of girl were by a table and I mistakenly asked them if they wanted to dance. To my surprise they responded with a: “ why are you allowed here?, you are too brown to be here”. I was so shocked by people been so open to say something like this I went back to the bar area and two minutes later the bouncer came and told me that I should leave because I was bothering people with my “spanish music”. Very rudely he tried to grab my arm, while I tried to explain that actually the girls in the table pass that very racist comment. He didnt care and continued screaming at me that I was distubing people. My fiance asked to speak with the owner which was very apologetic and offered to get us a drink for free and talk to the bouncer later. We obviously left but I am still angry, sad and confused that we are in 2022 and I am still been racial profiled because I am Latina and my skin tone bother some customer.
My friend surprised and treated me to this awesome place. I loved that the manager checked in on us several times. The restaurant was lovely very nice ambiance. I ordered from the menu that had a full course meal. I enjoyed the Shrimp Salad, Salmon and vegetables. My friend got an appetizer with Calamari and I loved the Calamari. I also had Riesling wine that was very nice as well. I saw that there were kids there as well, so I do plan to bring my daughter here as well to enjoy.
Went here for Halloween 2021. Got a large group of family and friends together to celebrate my engagement. The manager saw I was with a large group and accommodated us immediately. I had a few guests on the older side and he was able to make us feel comfortable at the next available lounge area, Where they can sit and drink. The service and hospitality was appreciated and did not go unnoticed. Even the bouquet of flowers I had! The manager stored away and told staff about it so I can get it before I left. Had a great time! Shout out to the manager and bartenders!
Excellent food. After covid I will dine indoors.
The place looks great and we like the staff, but we went here twice: the first time the food was a mixed bag and the drinks were nice, but the second time we all felt like we collectively wasted over a hundred dollars. My fiance sent back her food and didn't feel like eating the rest of the night.
It is a very good restaurant. It's very nicely decorated for Christmas right now. The portions are very generous.
I absolutely love bourbon street I have my mother a 90th birthday dinner there and it was beautiful I loved the ambiance of the place my mom was so surprised it was about 20 of us I rented one of their rooms everyone loved it and we all had a wonderful time the staff was excellent thank you so very much Ellen our waitress she was great at everything I could go on and on about bourbon street thank you all for your work and making sure my beautiful mom 90th birthday was dinner was amazing! I’ll be back in two weeks for a girls night out with my three friends lol…. Oh and by the way the food was amazing I did a buffet everyone said the food was so good and that they’ll be coming back
A Night out. I loved my meal. The rum punch/ Hurricane was good too. I had the Millinase chicken
The service was great and so were the drinks but I wanted to eat a good steak I ordered the Ribeye steak was perfectly cooked but when I took a bite I felt like I was eating leather the quality of the neat was so bad that ruined the whole experience I could get a better steak at the bodega in the corner really disappointed. Hope they get better quality meat ? then I will go back until then no thanks.
We used a private room upstairs which was clean, friendly staff. One waitress noticed my son and offer to get him someone chicken nuggets with fries and apple juice since our party planner didn't have food for kids. This was a awesome thing and I was grateful for her offer. I would say food choices could have been a better variety and more choices. There was like 5 choices and 1 was vegetables.
