This place is a hit or miss, I've seen a few of their locations around but only recently ordered a few times from their New Hyde Park location. The vermicelli noodle salad is my current recommendation from this restaurant, although every single time I've ordered this dish (x3), the taste is never the same, as if it's a different person cooking it each time but trying to follow the same template....regarding the most popular item, phò, their pho broth is kind of weak and it doesn't come with much meat, I wouldn't order this again. The price point is reasonable though, so I probably would venture back to try other dishes. I can't attest to authenticity but it's not bad
Enjoyed my meal. The food was good and a nice portion. The appetizers were good, but way overpriced for the size of the order. 4 tiny dumplings for $6.50. I ordered 3 appetizers, I will never order any again.
The food is surprising good! When you first walked into the restaurant you will mistaken it with a bar due to the decor. But once you settle down and order, your senses settles down and you realized it's a restaurant. It's got you hot chili oil that you put into your pho or other dishes.I got the classic Vietnamese sandwich and pho. Both were very surprising. We didn't have much expectations to start but it's comparable to other vietnamese restaurants. However the bean sprouts were on the low side. Usually in other restaurants they gave you so much the beans are falling off.But overall all it's a good place! Will come back for more! Love the vibe!
It was my first time there. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I’m from the area and have been in search for a good local Vietnamese place for Pho. I found it. I ordered the beef rib on bone pho and it was absolutely delicious! The interior is very homey! The owner was very warm and welcomingAnd you can’t beat their happy hour 12-7!
I got the grilled pork banh mi and it's quite possibly the worst banh mi I have ever had. I have had better banh mi in rural Indiana. They somehow made it taste more Mediterranean than Vietnamese. The banh mi was small and more akin to an extremely poorly done french baguette than a Vietnamese banh mi. Would not recommend
I visited for the first and last time today. I ordered the beef pho, and it was horrible. As some have already mentioned, the beef is very chewy and is not the correct type of beef for traditional pho. However, the biggest issue is the salt content. The pho was so ridiculously salty that I had to take the noodles out of the broth, dry them with napkins, and then eat the bare noodles with some hoisin drizzled on them. Lastly, the dish itself was very skimpy in terms of quantity. It was just a container of clear broth with a small container of noodles, two strips of chewy beef, and a few bean sprouts. I will not return and do not recommend.
We ordered beef pho... then ordered to get EXTRA beef. And we get extra fat?? This was NOT edible. It tasted so weird and was hard to even bite into it. This isn't beef that's supposed to come in the noodles. And the fact there was MULTIPLE pieces?? WASTE OF MY MONEY! I pay for extra beef and get this? UNACCEPTABLE! And on top of the fact that they barely give ANY beef to begin with. And less noodles. MOSTLY soup. For $12-13$. Disappointed.
We dined at Bai on Xmas eve& it was our first visit but won't be our last. The food & service was excellent! The pho noodle soup & cold noodle salad were both great. The spring rolls were also delicioua. We don't live in the neighborhood but we will be back when we're in the area.
Has potential.- Hip interior- inconsistent food. Tofu and chicken vermicelli flavorful sauce the first time. Bland the second time- pho decent, needs a bit more flavor/kick. It’s missing something. 6/10- I ordered the pho with the ribs ($15 with tax) for pick up to go. Realized when I got home to eat that there’s no ribs. They asked me if I wanted to drive all the back to pick it up. No way lol why should I drive there and back for their mistake? I had to call twice to make sure they were actually coming. (First time they said they’ll call me back but never did) in the second call they also asked if I was sure the (giant) ribs weren’t in the bag. After some back and forth and 2 calls later, They did deliver the ribs. I hungrily waited half an hour as I watch my wife eat as they drove over lol. Wished they offered a free dessert or drink as a courtesy for the inconvenience (phone calls, not calling me back and waiting). At least they came and correctly the wrong.Decent place still with nice decor, just needs some work on consistency of the food and customer service.
Ordered delivery through ubereats. Food was quick but lackluster and overly expensive. $18 for the 5 pieces of loc lac beef cubes. $10.25 for a classic banh mi with stale bread. Pho broth was diluted down.
