We are long time custermers of Ben's and we love going on. Sunday for the prime ribs, and usually the food and the service is excellent. But today 5/30/22 the service was terrible, the food was late, food was overcookedand took almost 35 minutes for us to get our soup and it came after the meal. Also they didn't have enough prime ribs, the kitchen and the management were totally inept. Cashier was very rude and sarcastic it looks like we might look for another place on Sundays. I personally think it's a management problem has to change if they don't change there going loss long time custermers like us who has supported them for years.
Ben's Kosher Deli is now my go to place when I want good Deli food.I've been coming here for years before my parents moved to Florida,so it's a nice reminder of them.My favorite items still are the matza ball soup and a juicy Pastrami sandwich. The GM here had me try the califlower soup and it's beyond amazing tasting. I'll be ordering the soup again when they have it.Service is still perfect and customer service prevails.
We were a group of 4. First the good, the sour pickles were absolutely the best part of the meal! I had the chopped liver appetizer that came with one slice of green pepper, one slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber and a few olives. All the veggies were fresh and delicious. The chopped liver however was very watery and had no flavor or taste. My wife's side dish was supposed to be a slice of potato pudding was actually noodle pudding. They make the correction. It was so dry and over cooked that it was hard to cut and was inedible. One of the other people in our party ordered a corned beef sandwich on rye bread. That was very good. But his side dish a square potato knish was also over cooked, impossible to cut and inedible. They did not charge for the knish. We will never go back there again.
Cole slaw was fresh! Pastrami was very tasty! Stuffed cabbage was amazing! And the chocolate bobka was a delicious treat in the end!
In NY the other day to visit my terminally ill mother and stopped by this rip-off establishment for some food. I understand everything is more expensive today because of COVID and the present economy. But $5 for a hot dog and almost $14 for a sandwich is totally insane. Doesn't even stop at that, I ordered a potato knish, and when I got to my mom's place I realized they didn't put it with my order, yet I got charged for it. I am totally disgusted with this place.
I truly loved Bens! I loved their corned beef sandwiches and I always go to of of the long island location. Today I tried the Bayside location and it was a first and last. First and formost I always order to go and get the corned beef sandwich with the bread on the side with half sour pickles! Now we ordered 3 corned beef sandwiches with only half sour pickles and a soup. I have ordered Bens for years the same way corned beef sandwich with the bread on the side and half sour pickles. Now as we all know there there is a romaine lettuce recall. In all my years of having Ben's they have never put romaine lettuce in the bottom of the container with my corned beef. And now with the recall on romaine lettuce that is not a good idea. Upon coming home and seeing this I was very upset. When I ordered my food no1 asked did I want romaine lettuce in the bottom and I didn't tell them not to because I never experienced this before at any other location. Also Ben's prices are not cheap.. it is a very pricey restaurant. So when I arrived home I was very upset to find romaine lettuce in the bottom of my container. I called Bens in Bayside immediately and asked to speak to a manager. I first spoke to Greg one of the manager. Greg was very condescending and was not pleasant at all. Terrible customer service. Then I was placed on the phone with Oscar the General Manager. He was WAY nicer, apologetic and helpful and allowed someone to deliver me me new orders without the romaine and took back the old ones. My only complaint with the new orders was it was wrapped in foil not the regular container and look much less than it would be in the foil containers. With that being said I will NEVER go to this Ben's Location EVER AGAIN!
Been coming for year very good service the sandwiches have been getting smaller in amount of meat can't no longer call it over stuffed but not many Jewish delis left
A major disappointment! My family has been dining at this Ben's location for years. A recent "take out" order and the follow-up treatment soured on it for good. I spent $98.44 for several items. Upon arriving home (a 15 drive) I discovered the chicken cutlets were "fried "not "grilled" as I specifically requested. At the time was told it would be a 12 minute wait for that item, which was fine. Being diabetic I was used to delays such at that. Calling the store to complain I spoke to the Manager Craig who offered a refund if I brought them back whenever I could. As they were my Christmas dinner hardly a solution especially for someone with my health issue. I offered to return them and obtain what I ordered and requested they be ready. However, as the bulk of my order would be cold by my return I asked if they could be replaced (the manager stressed he could not give me anything for "free" I never asked for such a thing. Just what I paid for. I finally was offered a "reheated" option instead. I accepted, my mistake. After a few minutes wait I received everything back and returned home. Well the chicken was stone cold, the burger a mess the soup lukewarm, and that hot dog well see for yourself. Would YOU serve that to a 10 year old? This location has now lost us as a customer for good. I hope Ronnie is reading this!!!
Service was pleasant, welcoming, and accomadating. Feels like a safe environment, too. Food was perfect on a cold night. Jewish penicillin and a deli duo. A shout out to Paul, the server, for warmth and personable attention.
