Long review but the gist is- Though they have many rave reviews, the other 1-star reviews about their lack of customer service are not exaggerations. The restaurant has not improved on that front despite customer feedback. That speaks more to me than how good their pancakes might be.For those who like the details…we were excited to try this local spot for brunch but left after they gave our table away despite us waiting half an hour. When my husband put down our name, the waitress said it’s a 5-10 minute wait for our 4-person party as there were no reservations ahead of us. We waited outside the restaurant for nearly 20 minutes but went in to speak with the waitress after seeing a party of 3 who arrived after us get seated at a 4-person table. When we asked her about our table, she said they had to give our table away because my husband did not tell her our full party had arrived. My husband reminded her that when he put our name down, he told her that my son and I were waiting to cross the street, to which she replied that she can’t see that far (the restaurant is 2 storefronts from the corner). Fair, though her response could’ve been less passive aggressive. But she also never bothered to call out our name or check with us (we were standing outside the door) before giving the table to someone else. The waitress did not apologize or seem sorry for the misunderstanding and her attitude made it seem like we were to blame for not keeping track of their waitlist.
Small cozy “mom and pop” feel.Welcoming staff, great music, food is delicious. Please be patience when it comes to waiting for your food. The kitchen is small and I see the staff doing everything they can to speed up the process :)
I came here with my coworker she has been here before and wow is all I can say! Amazing food. The pancakes are to die for. Light and fluffy. Food is fresh and made on the spot. I had the lemon strawberry pancakes and my mouth is still watering I didn’t even need the syrup. I am definitely coming back time and time again. The prices are very reasonable with big portions.
the pancakes are awesome!!!! they are fluffy and smooth!!I can not believe that I found this place few days ago even though I live not that far away from this place. two cons: first of all, try to avoid during weekends if you are planning to dine in. it was almost taking 30-40 mins to serve the breakfast because they were busy. but I end up be happy because I feel like it was worth to wait after I ate delicious pancakes!!second, banna brulee pancake has little banna toppings then I expected!! other pictures that I was seeing from other reviews, they have plenty of banna as topping!!. I dont know whether they are out of ingredients or something...but please NOT forget to go back to basics as first time
Pros: pancakes, smoothies, and location. Bell Blvd right next to the pho placeCons: service, wait time, and prices. Super limited seats & it’s restaurant-style meaning you have to wait to get seated, despite it really looking like a cafe. Even if you make a reservation online and over the phone, it likely won’t be honored especially during brunch prime time. I spent a total of 2 hours here on a Saturday morning. First hour was waiting to be seated despite having a reservation, due to limited seats. Service was pretty chaotic and slow. Maybe they’re short staffed but it also wasn’t very professional. It took 10 minutes to be acknowledged at the front door. Also the service was a bit brash. I’m not going to explain this part lol.Probably would not come again. Even people that did to-go orders had to wait or come back again. Not really sure what the hype is about? Probably because it’s a new brunch place in Bell Blvd
They're busy on weekends so be patient, orders could take a while, 20-30min, but it's worth it. Not good if you're in a rush.Barista made my latte with the perfect amount of sugar, not too sweet!Pancakes 10/10 so fluffy.Banana brulee 10/10Hot latte 9/10Bacon egg cheese (BEC) 8/10the eggs are fluffy as f***Add stuff on top for some flavorAvocado toast with smoked salmon 7/10Hot Cappuccino 7/10Iced Latte 7/10
Chocolate pancakes were the best I've ever had. Melty, not dry at all. Awesome chocolate syrup.Big belly wrap super yummy too, it's the perfect savory deliciousness to pair with the sweet. Pumpkin spice latte also great pairing for my meal. Definitely a great spot to try just don't be a regular cuz you'll be taking up a table for me when I go. They have smoothies and healthier options I forgone in liue of pancakes
Yum! Freshly mixed batter with excellent toppings heaped up gorgeously for your dining pleasure. The wait is a little on the longer end but the results are worth it! The decadence equates to dessert for breakfast. Mmmm!
Terrible service 15 minute wait before being asked for drinks 20 minutes after the coffee arrives half an hour before food arrived absolutely worst the guy Cashier/ host can’t get anything right. My opinion is to stay away or be disappointed
Quality pancakes above the rest. The only draw back is that they only accept cash.My kids and I love the pancakes here. Sure, you may have a wait time, but you get pancakes that are notches above in quality over diner or "corporate restaurant" pancakes. My go-to is the "Skinny Bella," which is pancakes with greek yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and nuts. These pancakes are light fluffy and "hit the spot," but they do not make you feel heavy afterwards (like other pancakes); nor do they make you feel guilty ?.In addition to pancakes, they have a menu of breakfast/regular sandwiches, salad, juices, and smoothies to choose from. And if you are a coffee fiend, I highly recommend the coffee; it was surprisingly great (bold and smooth at the same time). In my opinion, it is the best hot coffee within the vicinity.Order ahead of time (to avoid any wait), pick up, and enjoy. Higly recommend if you like pancakes.
