Went with family for a weekend dinner, they use the buzzer waiting system and we have to wait for 30 minutes for a table. They had a small parking lot and we were lucky enough to get a spot. We ordered scallion pancake, and some tofu stew. The flavor of the food here is less intense than the one in the city I have to say. Their kimchi was really good, fried yellow choker was not freshly fried and was just like warm when served. Overall it’s the BCD Tofu House experience you usually get, again just less flavorful.
This place is always crowded, but the team of waiters/waitresses do check up on you and pour you an extra glass of water when needed, or you can ask for a refill on a particular side dish. You get decent side dishes that change every once in a while, the tofu is soft with just the right amount of spice so that you can taste it and not choke on it, and the stone pot rice goes nicely with the tofu.
We have been here a few times before COVID and this is first time after. Everything is same as I remembered. Justin, our wait staff, is efficient and courteous. The banchans were all tasty and Justin refilled it for us as soon as we are done. We both ordered the combo. I had the spicy pork with kimchi and tofu plus the mushroom soondubu. The stone pot rice came out first and it was perfect having the rice in my soondubu. The kimchi pork and tofu were beyond good. PACKED with flavor. Slight tangy, spicy (the delicious kind of spicy), savory, perfect with the rice.
A busy and always hopping soondubu place. Staff members are so friendly, and even though the place is super busy they respond to you right away. Food wise, it is a typical soondubu place- dishes are a bit too oily for my liking, but banchan are not. I wish they gave a good portion of banchan - we kept asking for more and felt a bit bad bothering them. Otherwise it is a great place especially for a large party.
Our family came to BCD Tofu House on Saturday evening and it was very busy. The wait time was about 45 minutes but it was worth it. The staff was great and are great at dealing with large groups. We ordered a variety of things including the spicy stir-fried squid, chef’s special spicy stir-fried octopus, grilled mackerel, hot-stone bibimbap, vegetable soon tofu, and a variety of side dishes. The food was good and the service was excellent.
We went here for lunch last Sunday. There was a bit of a wait but it was well worth it! They have a lunch combo which is really good because you get an entree, soup and rice. Food was really good! Can’t wait to go back!
Kimchi or Dumpling soft tofu is good.Pretty busy place. Waiting time if fast bt 5 to 10 minutes. If longer bt 20 to 40 minutes.
My husband and I went for lunch and as first timers at a Korean BBQ restaurant we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the assortment of tapas/relishes were delightful. Not for the phobic chicken nugget person but as an adventurous eater with a meat and potatoes husband, we both enjoyed it. We ordered one lunch special which was pricey but worth it. I ordered the BBQ short ribs lunch special which came with the fried yellow croaker and mixed soon tofu soup and rice. Since we were sharing I ordered an additional hot pot rice. I also ordered a full order of fried beef dumplings. When we sat down we were given hot tea and several plates of garnishes- kimchi, pickled broccoli, pickled mushrooms, potatoes salad, pickled cucumbers and a cole slaw with kimchi topping. Our food came right away. We started with the rice and garnishes and the BBQ ribs came right away. The meat was sliced thin and flavorful. Some fat around the bone but tasty. My soon tofu soup came with a fresh egg - I only knew what to do by watching others at the other tables crack their raw egg into the hot bubbling soon tofu soup. I mixed the egg around and found a prawn, a couple of clams and meat in the broth. The tofu is organic and I was in heaven. I could eat that soup all day long! The dozen dumplings were fried to perfection but I needed some dumpling sauce to go with it. The dumpling skins were light and airy. I would definitely go back and try the Bulgogi- and the raw crabs. I afraid to try those at first but many of the patrons ordered the dish and ate them with satisfied faces.
Service was good. Attentive staff, promptly filling up side dishes. Food was good too. Ordered rgular spice assorted tofu stew, which came with nine side dishes. Very filling. I've had soft tofu stew before so I know how to eat it. But for the uninitiated, better ask the staff how to enjoy it properly.
This is always my go to place to have Sundubu. The autumn season special is my favorite, mushroom bibimbap.
