This place isn’t the same. I been coming here for almost 8 years. All the good staff has left. It’s a very toxic place now and all the servers and bartenders look miserable from constant complaints . Some of bartenders need to be retrained. They get way too personal and cause drama with guests. Just a misogynist pitch fest all night with the bartender suggesting dates with customers or sharing her gambling addiction. I couldn’t really tell anymore if I was sitting at a family restaurant or a gentleman’s club. The bartenders don’t know how to cut off impaired guests. The staff before was more professional on bar experience. I was a good paying customer who tipped extremely well for years and never had an issue with this place until now. Doesn’t make sense anymore to spend any money here with the low quality of service and staff.
Worst baby back ribs… this should be called jerk ribs since it’s very dry and chewy… how you mess up a fries as well? Unless it’s also old or re-heated via microwave…. It’s grainy and dry… my little toddler who loves his fries didn’t even want to eat it…. I should have read all the good reviews first because most good reviews are people who where ordering liquors and appetizers… the one star is only for the appetizer
My daughter and I stopped here for lunch as we were an hour early for the Museum of the Moving Image. Food was good and the place was not crowded at all (which I liked). Service was slow but we had an hour to kill so we didn't mind. Normally I would have liked to try a local place but due to the location, we ended up here. I got coleslaw instead of fries with my burger. Yum.

Service was great and seats were available when we got there. The food was brought to us very quickly. Definitely will come back again.
This review is not based on the food. It’s based on the customer service.I entered this Applebee’s in Astoria as I normally do when I’m in Astoria. I came to order some take out. I stood by the entrance and waited for someone to acknowledge me. After 5 minutes of waiting, the bartender asked me if she can help me. I asked for a menu and she walked to the OTHER side of the bar. I proceeded to take a seat at the bar and waited for the menu. She approached me and asked for my ID and Vax card. I told her I do not have a Vax card (she was doing her job under NYC law) which I understand. However, she proceeded to tell me I can’t sit down and that I need to go outside. Baffled by her comments, I asked “if I’m outside, how can I place my takeout order” “ is someone coming outside to attend to me” she repeated it again “you need to step outside and you cannot be seated here” I responded I understand (while standing) I’ll like to place a take out order and please provide me with a menu. She handed me the menu and instructed me to step outside. While outside, I took a look at the menu and decided what I wanted. Then I open the entrance door and stood there. As I’m trying to get someone’s attention. There were three employees in the area and No one looked my way nor acknowledged me. I placed the menu at the welcome booth and walked out.This review is based on my views and how I felt unappreciated as a customer. I understand they have to follow NYC guidelines. However, the way they went about it was borderline rude and it made me feel like a second class citizen. And this last comment is solely based on the interaction with the bartender and them taking a blind eye to not served me.
Waitress, service and food was 5 Star ? only con it was kinda cold like I had to put my coat back on ? aside from that the food was good and the drinks were good. Love there theater partner ship with regal down the block. You can get movie tickets for like 9 bucks with your meal. Pretty neat!
The food and the service was great. The bartender (Caren) is very skilled, there was never a long wait for drinks or dinner. The place is kept clean and the check for I.D. and vaccination card; at least you can feel a bit safer than without the checks. I recommend this branch.
