Delicious shanghai needs food.
Had some wanton soup ? I got here and it was excellent for lunch. The ambiance was great in this small restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a Five Star Chinese Restaurant with the equivalent of a Cordon Bleu Chef vs a cook whose last job was in an airport Chinese Gourmet Panda take out. The soup dumplings are a wonderful, delicate savory treat, (better than around the corner) Try the -Shainghai beef scallion rolls with special sauce! Also try The Yelliow fish with tangy brown sauce, and the scrumptious pea pod stems in sauteed garlicIgnore rhe 3.5 star reviews put up by jealous competitors in other restaurants who could never match this place for the best Chinese Food In Town in a 100 years or more
The chubby waiter with eyes has a very bad attitude. The pictures are beautifully done, but the dishes brought out are completely different from the pictures! Deceptive restaurant! I won't be back!
They charge you 18% tip by default if you don’t look carefully you will double tip them. Imagine your bill is 100 they charge 18% tip it becomes 118 and on top of that you give another 20% then it becomes 141. You ended up paying 41% tip which is flocking insane. Maybe this is how they managed to survive over the years with subpar food quality. They should abandon such unethical business practice, or at least let people know the default gratuity is 18%. The food was not terrible, but I’ll not be returning to this place as there are many better alternatives within 3 minutes walk.
Very delicious food. This is a gem in Flushing with the best soup dumplings. It is the perfect place for everyone. The servers were very attentive and efficient. I will be back. Thank you Taste of Shanghai. Give it a try next time you are in Flushing.
Price is reasonable, but food quality is not good. I have not been here since pandemic. The food quality went down a lot.
My real score of this place will be 3.5 between average and very good. The long menu offers lots of choices, but my experiences here are that a few dishes really stand out while others are just mediocre. The wait staffs are willing to help. I have seen many people who know exactly what they want and having a great meal in this place. I have a few my own favorites including the pork shoulder in brown sauce that melts in your mouth. It is a Shanghai restaurant, so order Shanghainese food!
Awesome, authentic shanghainese food! Soup dumplings are a must. Very great prices and credit cards are accepted!
Food is high quality and delicious. The menu is abundant with many authentic dishes that I would find on the streets in Shanghai. Highly recommend the fermented rice dessert, scallion pancakes, and soup dumplings!
