I have been to every Mexican restaurant in Poughkeepsie over the course of my college years and I can confirm this one is the best. The staff is very friendly and the portions are out of this world huge for the cheapest prices around. But the best part is the quality of the food. Authentic Oaxacan cheese, homemade tortillas, amazing mole sauce, even the ice cream is made there! You absolutely have to go if you are in Poughkeepsie. I highly recommend the tlayuda, a traditional Oaxacan dish.
I'd been hearing about the merits of this establishment, so l decided to try their take out.I ordered a super taco, a trio of soft tacos with chorizo, rice and guacamole on the side. Visually, it was beautiful, but much to my surprise, with the exception of the rice, it had very little taste. I may possible give it another try in the future, so sure.
