OMG!! WOW! BEST sushi and soup EVER! We are staying in the Homewood Suites in a shopping center, where Bonsai is located and people leaving with take out today said how great their food is, so we tried take-out tonight! Wow! Amazing, fresh flavor! Huge rolls! Yudon with broth DELICIOUS!!Thank you, Bonsai in Poughkeepsie! Keep up the great work!
So loved this place...however went there last night ordered the sushi pizza...2nd bite something hard as glass went into my front right tooth....after showing the food i had to spit out they tried to tell me it was rice.....sooo i had to separate what i spit out to show them.it was bone or glass....this ws shrimp pizza....ended up being told they would have insurance contact me...next day with horrific pain in tooth i go to dentist to find out my tooth is fractured.....needs 5o get pulled a bridge done then implant over 5000 worth of damage call them and know they speak no English and owners are Away and wont give me insurance info......nice
Delicious! Go get you a Bento Box. You'll love it. And the Udon is perfect.
Limited choices for a vegan but good sushi. They have bento boxes. I ordered mine and a seaweed salad but they forgot to give me the salad that also came with the bento box. Otherwise, good service.
This is our go to place for sushi in the area. The service is fast and the food is always fresh. We love the salmon avocado, shrimp tempura roll and spicy salmon avocado sushi. But everything is always super delicious …. the outdoor seating area is perfect on a beautiful day and you can bring your dog along ….. they are super pet friendly. You will be very pleased to see how much love they will show towards your four legged creature.
Best sushi I’ve ever had and amazing MochiBig menu to. I will definitely be going back many times. The California roll and Phili roll are awesome. I HIGHLY recommend bonsai. And the service was lovely and a great stop after a day at the Poughkeepsie galleria mall
I took myself out for a treat. There was outside dining and it was a late lunch early dinner.Such fresh sushi and delicious!The salad and miso soup were delightful.Adding hot saki as a treat it was a very nice alone time dinner.
I’ve ordered the same two items (pictured below) several times over the course of a week, and it has been consistently the same. Bonsai is probably one of the better sushi restaurants in the area.
The sushi was bigger than I’m used to so I ordered way too much, but the rice was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right, and the fish was very fresh. My waiter was extremely attentive and even gave me tableside soy sauce pouring which I’ve never seen before LOL! I will definitely be going back again and again if the quality and service remain as great as this.EDIT: I ate here again today and tried out all nigiri and a salmon skin hand roll. This place is my new favorite sushi restaurant by far in this area. The pieces are like the ones in Japan, HUGE!!! And I can’t stress enough how fresh everything is. Bon appetit!!
