I am in town for work and was in the mood for pizza. Somehow once I parked, I decided to get a full entree instead and ordered veal parmesan. The portion was large enough that I got dinner and left overs for lunch but I wouldn't call this meal great for the price. It was a little chewy. I should have stuck to my original craving of pizza.
The pizza was great. Reminded me of shops (that are now closed) in Philly during the late 90's. Seating was available. Masks optional. Prices were affordable.
We have been patrons for years. More consistent and predictable than most of the places we go. They seem to have survived the "pandemic" issues better than most. We are strictly dine in patrons so the counter and take out hustle doesn't affect us. Inflation has given the menu prices a bump, but so has everything we touch. That said, we love all the food, the service is good and we always enjoy the visit. Off hours is best for faster seating because they DO have a bustling business.
The food is alright. Although I never get pizza bc they always over cook it and all you taste is burnt crust. Also the counter people are plain rude and inpatient.
Going down hill fast.Inconsistent is how I describe the food lately. Sometimes it’s the best slice in town, then other times it’s just incredibly bad. The pizza is burnt, dry and covered in those nasty oven bubbles. No one is watching the oven. Pizza and pasta dishes are all suffering. Like no one in the kitchen cares. 3 times now it’s been seriously bad.And the place needs better management. So much yelling going on in such a tiny place. Mostly from managers which is sad to see. They need to learn how to run not just a front of house but a business in general. There is a nasty blonde older woman standing around barking at people. In fact most of the older pizza counter staff seem miserable too. The workers are nice to customers but the main guys running it are just nasty to customers. Sad to see a place go down like this. And it seems every good worker there never seems to stay very long.
Looks inflation affect this nice restaurant "unfortunately"We loved this restaurant so much from all prospectives food, beverages, service, staff and atmosphere - it was our favorite Italian restaurant? .But our last visit was not blessed as usual ? service delayed though a lot of waiters around, food was not as quality as always (may be thier chef resigned)?Nor the portions was as before -We don't like when good places downgraded ?
I typically don’t write reviews but felt I needed to… with the exception of pizza orders this place NEVER gets our order right; something is ALWAYS missing. It hasn’t happened once or twice but it’s all the time! I get mistakes happen now and then but almost every order? When we call they do bring what was missing but sometimes it’s not for 45 mins and we’ve finished eating already! Food is good but they need to get there act together with the ordering process.
The organization of this restaurant leaves much to be desired. I came into the restaurant to Eder something to go. There was a line that wrapped around the indoor perimeter of the restaurant. I patiently waited my turn in the line for almost 20 minutes only to be told by the gentleman behind the counter that I had to order with the hostess first then wait for my food! When I ordered Needless to say when I ordered my food the hostess told me it would take about 30-35 minutes! I then had to go to the back of the line and wait all over again. There is no sign or any form of instruction that states that if you did not order you must see the hostess first before waiting on line. Very poor business and management. Iavarrone is just a few minutes down the road.. they now have my business .. and I usually frequented this place often.. not any more.
To the old white Male Plainview La Piazza driver driving the LP blue Hyundai who tried to run my family and I off the road today because he was probably in a rush and running late, SHAME ON YOU. Pair that with cursing when you pulled up next to us and flipping the bird, an extremely distasteful representation of LP. I’ve been a Plainview resident my whole life and have always enjoyed this restaurant but this threw me off. La Piazza Management can please take note and maybe speak to your drivers. Respect is always appreciated especially towards other drivers on the road - Have a great day ✌?
Love the large, diverse menu. All food dishes delicious. Service great. Perfect for groups the share dishes .
