Loved the atmosphere. The murals on the walls showing the history of the poet. Food was delicious too!
The worse place possible to go and eat and especially after hours to go dancing and have fun. I advise you do not go there. The host and managers are racist and inhospitable. Not worth spend your money and the music is garbage.
So delicious! Awesome service, our server Steffany took great care in making sure we were comfy, well feed, and enjoying our meal! The food was outstanding! Perfect place go to celebrate early St. Patrick's Day! ??
Attempted to go today for a friends birthday. My fiancé was wearing brand new air Jordan 1s. They were clean with no issues on them. They apparently are a late night bar with a dress code ?? My fiancé was turned away meanwhile multiple kids with dirty disheveled sneakers were able to walk in with no problem, including high top dunks (that look exactly like 1s) were allowed in. As previously mentioned in other reviews on yelp their dress code is clearly trying to turn away a certain crowd and it is truly disgusting. As for the owner, don’t bother replying with your usual copy and paste reply to people complaining about your business and it’s ridiculous dress code. It’s clear you don’t care and you’re losing thousands of dollars of business in the process of it all and continuing to generate a horrible reputation.
Attempted to go here for dinner with friends before seeing a concert at the Patchogue theater on the Sunday before St Patrick's Day. Apparently everyone had the same idea. Had a 5:30 dinner reservation and the concert was at 7, so should have been plenty of time. We were told when we walked in that the kitchen was backed up a bit. We finally got seated at 5:50 and ordered a bunch of apps. Told the hostess and server that we were short on time and had to leave for our show no later than 6:50. By 6:45 there was still no sign of anything coming out of the kitchen so we just paid for our drinks and left. I get that places are short staffed but it was just crazy. Will definitely go back and give them another shot, just not on a holiday weekend when a Scottish Bagpipe rock band is in town
We had an absolute fabulous time here after the parade. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Food and drinks were great also !
Loved the vibe of this place! Food & music were both good.
Nice atmosphere. The burgers were really good and tasty although not very large. Serving size was perfect for me but I'm used to larger patties, so some with bigger appetites might be disappointed. Our waitress was awesome. I'd come back.
After a family get together we decided to grab some drinks late night at James Joyce, what a terrible idea that was. The bouncer at the front door began giving us problems as soon as we arrived. He looked me up and down with a dirty look and made me take off my shoes and jacket and patted me down as if I was checking into prison. He then denied me from entering because he didn’t think my ID was real, it was… I am 25 years old. I even showed him multiple forms of ID but he just wouldn’t let me in. I proceeded to walk around to the back door where I just walked right in (what tight security they have right?). Inside the bar multiple security guards were breathing down everyone’s neck and constantly giving people a hard time for nothing. Other patrons at the bar expressed that this is normal for James Joyce. Overall I felt disrespected and uncomfortable there and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone! There’s way better places to drink in Patchogue don’t go here!
