Came here on a Friday evening, should have made reservations. Sat at the seats next to the Tiki Bar, had an extremely limited menu (maybe 5 items and the rest raw bar.) Had the steak tidbits and calamari, both were very good. They had a band playing as well. Will go back, and make reservations first. Nice spot on the water with good food.

I’ve been told numerous times to dine here, finally went this week. I was told I needed reservations, get there and there were tons of empty tables, fine who cares. Greeted by a lovely waitress but then was told we couldn’t order apps until we ordered dinner, never had that happen. Long long wait. Then it took an hour to get out food. Chicken. I ordered chicken, come on. The waitress felt bad and asked we wanted bread, gave us this sad few pieces. Dinner finally came after being comped a glass of wine. Blah food. Disappointing!

This is the second time we went. We live right next door we always hear the music so wanted to give it a shot. Second time we ordered a steak medium rare and came out WELL DONE. First time we didn't say anything. This time we brought it up to the manager Anthony who came over VERY confrontational. "It looks medium rare to me, what's the problem" this was not even close to medium. We didn't even ask for another steak. He said "they will make you a steak you don't want it?!" Agresssive. The drinks are watered down and the other food had zero taste. We valet parked our Jaguar and there was a group of teenage girls leaning against it. This is a bar with bar food, with these prices I've spent over $600 in 2 visits. You'd expect way more. Not even close to 5 stars.

Great seafood and service! I dined at Drift 82 with coworkers during a trip up to Long Island. The weather was perfect. The oysters were great(clean and salty), as cold water oysters should be. I highly recommend!

This place is fantastic! We have been here several times and are always impressed by the quality and variety of food. The hostess, the manager, Valerie our server were great. We can't wait for our next visit

The location is waterfront on the Patchogue River. We pulled in by boat and enjoyed live music, drinks and appetizers at the tiki. Everyone was happy. Thats where it should have ended. But, we decided to get a table and have dinner here. It was busy-we put our name on the list and asked fir a specific area to eat in outside. We were told our table was being set and it was pointed out. We went to collect the group and came back to see another party at our table. We waited and were given another table. We ordered drinks and shared tomato mozzarella platters for the table. Well...the drinks came but no food. They dud give us a round of drinks for the wait. Ok thanks. Then 45 minutes later, still no entrees. We felt like we had been sitting at this cement seat table for hours-because we had. The view, and food are good-service was terrible. This is strictly a drinking bar. We wont be dining here again.

We really liked Drift 82. Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was I felt the menu could've offered just a little more. The place wasn't packed by any means but I could see if it was, parking could be an issue here. We skipped appetizers and went right to ordering entrees. The lobster mac was good but could use more lobster. The sauce was creamy and had a great cheddar flavor. The lobster stuffed ravioli was just okay and my nephews chicken fingers were perfect. My sister in law opted for the lobster bisque, she said it was delicious and the Caesar salad which was huge! I decided to just go with the calamari. That too was delicious, wonderfully crisp batter over succulent squid and the marinara sauce was very good. After seeing another tables order of scallops being delivered I realized that was what i should have ordered. It normally would have been, but when the chef came over to go through the specials with us, his lackluster description just couldn't get me there. Everyone agreed the drinks were cold and tasty and the usual offerings of dessert, cheesecake, tiramisu etc just didnt ring any bells so we declined dessert. All in all, a great place to stop in for dinner. They had a live one man "band" who sounded pretty good but the acoustics weren't great and honestly, this place had some incredibly loud diners. If you're in the area and have a hankering for seafood, in a place on the docks, Drift 82 is it.

My wife asked me about finding a nice clam bar/ seafood restaurant in Patchogue. So, I called my boss who knows some really great places to eat. He recommended Drift82 to me and said that we'd really enjoy it. So, on Memorial Day, 2022, we get ourselves together and go there. What an excellent place for wonderful food and atmosphere! We were greeted by our server Elena S. and made to feel welcome. Once we placed our orders, in a very short amount of time we enjoyed fresh, crispy garden salads. Next, we enjoyed three different appetizers and, of course, the nice bowl of Lobster Bisque. Then, there was a nice break between all of this and the main courses. We needed this short spell to get ready for them and this break was welcomed. Our main courses contained plenty to eat and were obviously cooked fresh and were served piping hot. My wife had 2 glasses of wine and me- well, coffee does me just fine. Now, for desert, one large piece of far out cheese cake with two forks. The bill was NO PROBLEM AT $212.00!! (...and THAT did not include the nice tip I gave Elena. She made sure to regularly check on us to see that we were satisfied with each part of our meals and was a real pleasure to have taking care of us). To those who have complained about this place being "Pricey" and the food not being that great- I beg to differ. If you read the menu on-line before going there, or getting there and waiting a few minutes to read a menu, you would have had an idea of the approximate cost of your meals. You could have then decided to eat elsewhere if it was going to be more than you had hoped to spend. When it comes to going out to dinner, if you are looking for excellent food at "Dollar Menu" prices, stay home and cook for yourself. Dropping a "One Star" on this place for the "pricey" reason is completely inappropriate. We will be back again to enjoy some of the other goodies on the menu and hell, if I don't have to drive, I might even have a glass of wine. Drift82 deserves a 5-star and that's why I took the time to write this review and award them just that. Dan Prunty

... you'll find Drift 82, a five-year-old restaurant that is casual, quaint, friendly and all the wood resembles driftwood! We went for lunch on a chilly, gray day, well before the busy summer season and found we had the place and the staff to ourselves. We sat at the bar chatting with Robert, the bartender. We'd been so taken with Drift's appetizer menu, we decided to focus on a medley of apps for our lunch today. We started with oysters, raw and Rockefeller, and both were good. This was followed by the Marinated Steak Tidbits, one of their signature dishes, which we shared and devoured - loved that marinade! Chicken Wings are always a fair choice and they were again. And, Robert said we could take-out food too, so we ordered a Beef Carpaccio and the Shrimp & Lobster Wontons to-go. Oh I forgot to mention our delicious cocktails - 2 Margaritas straight-up with salt. They have a very original list of specialty drinks too, that varies with the season. The restaurant is a bit out of the way but you can't miss their large white tent, which allowed them to double their business during COVID. Now that says a lot about this fun waterfront eatery with delicious food and a friendly staff.

What can I say this is my favorite spot you can't go wrong with her awesome food they opened up for Valentine's and I went there just to meet some of my friends they had a special!
