It's OK, thought it was pricey for the small pieces of pizza .Just received a response from the " owner" which said Thank you , although I appreciate the quick response they didn't address one of my concerns. 2 small pieces of Sicilian style pizza each slice was like half the size of a regular Sicilian slice available at any pizzeria and a regular slice with broccoli 15.00 dollars I think that's way overpriced however to receive a response of Thank you left me to believe review wasn't even read !! If you're going to respond clearly you should read the review or don't bother. Thanks .Edit I responded to response from owner on my original review.
Amazing grandma slices, Chicago style in oven from Italy I believe.Everything is delicious. Love its on outskirt of village easy parking and don't hv to go thru town and deal wit h traffic. Give them a try u won't be disappointed ?
I am new to LI in the last year and I have been searching for the best pizza. Having tried at least 30 NY style joints that all tasted similarly, I finally found a creative and outstanding place. I lived in the Detroit area previously and I was blown away by the Detroit style pizza here. The crust is perfectly crunchy without being heavy or doughy. My family enjoyed both the Brick oven style and also the NY pies. We met the owner who was very friendly and shared his story about how he learned to make these different styles of pizza. I loved the flavor of the sauce and will definitely be going back!!
Great place! Stopped in last night on the fly with my wife and sat at the counter near the pizza oven. Watched our food get made and it was delicious. But this was the best part...an order comes in and the pizza chef starts working his magic and for fun I timed him. 5 pies of various types prepped in 3min 59sec, into the oven and while cooking he was getting the boxes ready and adding wood to the fire, 5 pies out of the oven in 3min 29sec. The guy is a machine...the back of his shirt says it all!
Family and I really enjoyed this place during a visit to the area. The place we clean, service was fast AND friendly and the food was really good. We have a few different pizzas and they were all good. The cheese stuffed knots were all good. I would definitely recommend it!
The staff at Donatinas are not only professional but also polite. Besides the food is incredible. The only gluten free pizza that tastes like pizza. I wouldn't order from anywhere else. Let's just say they go out of there way for their customers !!!
this place was recommended by someone. it was the worst Detroit pizza ever. we think it was sitting out and reheated and sold to us last Friday night. never again!
I love the environment in this restaurant. Super clean and quick service.
I like the fact that they have a wood fired brick oven and gas making nepolitan, sicilian and gluten free pizza. I enjoyed making this review https://youtu.be/1ZprKwP-LSsz
They make their own Gluten Free Pizza Crusts!!! The only GF crust style choices are Sicilian or Detroit (basically very similar to Sicilian). I almost always get the pesto chicken as a topping. As with any restaurant that isn't wholly GF, I'd still recommend taking a Gluten pill (I've gotten slight cross contamination).
