Loved my experience at Primo. The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent!!
The food and drinks are outstanding. A beautiful spot to dine on the riverfront patio!
Excellent food’s, great service and love the atmosphere ..
Primo on the Newburgh waterfront (where Cena was formerly & currently opened by owners of Heritage) is open for weekday lunches now & it’s delicious! My godmother & I walked in around 12:15 and were greeted & seated at a waterfront table immediately. This place is going to be a huge summer hit! The menu is inventive, creative, & delicious! I can already think of 7 more things I want to try. The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. They make updates to the menu regularly, but I’ve included pictures of the current menu so you can get an idea of offerings. We started with the Fritto Misto appetizer. This could easily be sharable for 4. It was so creative and interesting! The zucchini was our favorite. Some of the peppers were a little spicy which we loved! We each got a Panzanella Verde salad and added grilled shrimp for our meals. The shrimp were some of the best I’ve had dining locally in recent years. The vodka watermelon cocktail is delicious! I’ll be drinking that all summer. Great job with that one Brandon! Genius! Head to Primo ASAP. I highly recommend it. This is a high end experience done right.
This place is AMAZING! My husband and I ate here for a special occasion last week and the food, service, and atmosphere was superb. It felt like we were on vacation in Florida! Our server Bryan was amazing and polite. We are vegetarians so we both got pasta dishes, and they were so delicious we both wiped our plates clean. The dishes were unique and unlike anything we've ever had before. Drinks were amazing too. HIGHLY recommended and we will be coming back!
I expect nothing else than excellence from the people behind Primo, as I'm intimately familiar with the food at it's sister restaurant, Heritage Food + Drink. After an extensive sampling, Primo has more than exceeded my expectations.I started with the torched salmon crudo, which had a perfect bite of horseradish heat to match the richness of the salmon, all balanced by a bit of lemon. Presentation was impeccable. For an entree I had the bucatini Bello, which had a great light seafood broth to gently flavor the pasta while not overwhelming the clams or prosciutto.I also tried the hazelnut cookie sandwich - it was the perfect balance of crunch to rich gelato. The waitstaff was very attentive, with regular refills and ensuring that everything was up to snuff. All in all I'd come back any time, the price is definitely justified by the quality of food and service.
This place was very good! Enjoyable due to the quality of food, drinks and location right on the river. Although the ingredients felt fresh and high quality a few of the dishes seemed to struggle with identity or presentation. Toro tartare for example, wants to be a silly smooth melt in your mouth dish but ended up not being chopped finely enough and ended up, although tasty, was stringy and chewy. The Caesar Nero takes an intriguing approach and uses squid ink in it's dressing. Conceptually adventurous! And tastes good, just the presentation of lettuce in a grey/black sauce doesn't add to the dish. The Lobster was great as is! And even some of the best chicken I've had perfectly complimented by the caper-raisin glaze and polenta. Just a few confusing elements but gotta give to them for trying something unique. Would still go back!
We were a party of 5. We ordered the frito misto. It was mostly vegetables, the fried fish was almost non existent. The lamb chops were very tasty and well presented. The grilled octopus was flavorful but too small a portion to justify the cost. The pasta dishes were small and a little too oily but well prepared. The mussels were abundant and had a very pleasant and rich taste. Service was excellent but hostesses were not accommodating. Though the food was good, the ambiance is too casual and noisy to justify the high prices.
Came here for dinner with some friends and we had superb food and amazing service. Our waiter Nick was excellent and so kind. The appetizers, dinner, drinks, and desserts were absolutely delicious. Even the bread and butter was excellent. I highly recommend this place!
