Before I start, I am not one of those people who find fault over every little thing or even write a review on a restaurant. But there is a first for everything. We stopped in last minute for dinner on our way home. I have heard some not so great things about the place, but figured I would see for myself. We were sat immediately and the staff were very nice. Drinks were good, the appetizer was good, but when it came to the dinner, that's when things went down hill. My partner ordered pasta with shrimp and I ordered a hamburger & fries. His meal came out and the waiter apologized and said my meal wasn't ready because the kitchen was backed up. I looked around and noticed there were quite a few empty tables around, how could they be backed up? I waited and waited and finally asked the manager (the hostess) where my food was and explained how this was unacceptable. After my partner was finished eating his meal, my burger finally came out. Needless to say, it was luke warm and they gave me 4 french fies that were ice cold and hard. Yes, that's right, FOUR french fries, Are you effin kidding me????? I told the waiter to take the meal and take it off the bill. I felt bad for the waiter, because it wasn't his fault & I let him know that several times. The chef is disorganized and should be fired immediately, they are understaffed and there was no management present. In the end they comped the whole bill which was very nice and not necessary. A few things to note. It was a beautiful Saturday night with a gorgeous view of the river overlooking the marina, why wasn't this place packed like other restaurants at the river??? That should have been the first red flag. The bar should have been packed and people lined out the door to get in on a night like tonight. The decor was absolutely horrible!!! Salmon walls with brown carpet, a busted up dance floor in the middle of the room, a nasty brown couch from the eighties shoved next to the bar (who is going to sit on that)? and looked like an overflow of decor from Home Goods. This place needs a complete overhaul and attention to detail if they want to charge the prices they are charging. If you are the owner and you are reading this, I hope you realize that you have a complete diamond in the rough, but you need to start investing your time and resources into your establishment or you may soon find yourself out of business. Show up, be present, look for ways to make other's day great, be of service, serve great quality!!!!
A week ago, we held the Welcome Dinner commencing my daughter’s wedding weekend at Pamela’s on the Hudson. We had over 100 guests. The event was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed the drinks, the food and the excellent setting for such an event. I particularly enjoyed how happy my daughter was with the entire affair and all aspects of it. (She can be picky)From planning through completion working with Pamela and her staff was easy. We appreciated Pamela’s attention to details, many we had not even thought of but proved to be important. The location and setting were perfect for an evening event for a large group. The menu suggested was perfect for the event. The service provide by the bartenders, servers and others was very professional and noted by many guests.Thank you to Pamela and her staff.
The guy sitting next to me paid $3 less for each beer than me. I complained about it and they didn't care. They will never see me again. Oh, by the way, the food was great! MY REPLY TO YOUR REPLY: The guy sitting next to me was drinking the same beer as me, Tom's River IPA and I was charged $9 a beer which is above your highest price. Your staff showed complete indifference in my complaint or making things right. I can afford the $6 so this isn't about the money. It's about getting things correct and caring to make things right if you get them wrong. I should have asked for the manager and/or not left a tip. People need to care about doing the right thing and that wasn't the case here. 2ND REPLY: It's very nice that you changed your post AFTER my 2nd reply to make me sound like the dishonest one. You guys are horrible these days. No wonder your dining room was empty on a Friday at dinner time. Incidentally, it should have been happy hour for me as well because we were all there together.
I would have given zero stars if I could. After waiting for over an hour for our food..the food was cold and inedible. I will not be coming back. Stay away.
The guy sitting next to me at the bar paid $3 less for each beer than me and it was the same exact beer. I complained about it and they didn't care. They will never see me again. Oh, by the way, the food was great!
Pamela’s is a hidden gem!.We had Mother’s Day dinner and it was fabulous from drinks to appetizers Ed’s to entrees and desert!. Our server, Lisa, merits special attention as she was so pleasant and made us feel so comfortable. The combo of great scenery, great food and special service made our Mother’s Day dinner a big success!.Pamela’s is now on the top of our list for recommended places!!!.Mike & Teresa EarlyCornwall, NY.
My husband and I decide to take a drive over to the Newburgh waterfront for brunch on a beautiful day. We usually visit the restaurants on front street, but, had heard of Pamela's and decided to try it. We were glad we did. Food was very good I had the American breakfast, my husband the omlette of the day, and they make a great bloody mary. A little hard to find, but, worth it.
Everything! Service is spectacular and the food is amazing!
I had a fantastic mushroom and chicken soup. wow. the best I ever had. excellent flavor and the mushrooms were perfect. thanks
I was in the area. In my luck I found this place which was 5 minutes from where I was. I ordered the pork chops. I must say perfectly cooked. This was a thick piece of meat and yet it was so moist and flavorful throughout. Kudos to the chef for making a perfect pork chop. The side of apple compote so good as well. Highly recommend. I sat by the window and I was again lucky enough to see a rainbow and an eagle perched on a tree! My waitress was very sweet she even got me binoculars so I can better see the eagle. I gave it a four due to the decor really needing an update. However the experience was nice and the live band was a nice touch as well. If you are in the area I definitely recommend.
