This is a lovely restaurant with great water views. The wine was excellent and the waitperson was helpful. I was looking forward to the salad lyonnaise, a favorite that I enjoyed many times at La Goulou in NYC. I should have asked for a flashlight so I could carefully read the menu. What arrived was a chopped salad mounded and heavy with dressing with what appeared to be a scotch egg on top. Not the classic frisée and lardon dressed with a light vinaigrette and served with a poached egg on top. I tasted and set aside. I’m not one for refusing to eat a dish in a restaurant in fact I’ve never done it before…but at 83 I’m less willing to pay high dollar for a dish I don’t like. The waitress was very helpful and asked if I wanted something else and I placed another appetizer order that arrived quickly. The calamari was good but a little tough. Service seems well trained and attentive but not hovering. I think the kitchen could improve. But as with many restaurants these days you really need to know the menu.
Went to dinner with my husband for a special dinner. It was horrible, I ordered the scallops carbonara, a special. It was horrible, there was 4 little pieces of chewed up scallops over pasta, looked disgusting. My husband got the sole franchise and it had no flavor and a lot of bones in the sole. Have been there many times and it was always good, will never go back again!
Arrived 25 minutes early for our reservation - they happily checked us in and we sat in the comfy chairs by the fireplace while we had a drink and waited for the rest of our party of 8. Atmosphere is upscale and classy, waitstaff was friendly, attentive and timed our courses perfectly. Can't wait to go back!

Great view from the table of the Hudson River. Parking was easy, we were greeted immediately with a smile, and quickly seated. Our wait staff was attentive to my allergies and overall excellent. The food was good and the sommelier was on point with her suggestions to match our dishes. They were excellent with our kids and even had little cups for them to enjoy their Shirley Temples!
The ambiance and service were excellent. I gave this 3 star because I felt cheated by the high price for a ridiculously small portion. Ordered the 1 1/4 lb. Maine lobster In Newburgh sauce served in a puff pastry for $55. There was barely 2 ounces of lobster in the pastry. 2 tiny claws (1 inch) and about 4 small morsels (less then 1/2 inch)of tail meat. I didn’t measure of course, just an estimate to give you an idea of what I mean by small. I also didn’t complain because this was my “birthday lobster” and I didn’t want to ruin the mood. But how dare they!
this past weekend March 12th 2022 we just celebrated our daughters baby shower at Blu Pointe, Mary , Ricky and staff were exceptional chef Scott cooked his heart out the food was amazing the ambiance of Blu pointe made our occasion an unforgettable one , we are very grateful
This is one of our favorite places in the Newburgh area. It is a bit pricey so we use this as our special occasion place a few times per year, but there isn't a finer seafood restaurant in the area. The wine list is unbelievable, and it's no wonder they've won awards for their selection & service in the past. The view is breathtaking along the water. The service, as you would expect from a fine dining establishment is impeccable. Oysters on the half shell or Rockefeller are a must. Plenty of choices for all appetites. We always start with their amazing locally sourced cheese tray and take our time. Great atmosphere & experiences every time we drop by. I highly recommend making a reservation.
Food was excellent. Oysters Rockefeller we're outstanding. Will try the Blue Points on a half shell next round. I love them both. Staffing was top notch. Seating along the water, inside because of the cold.Abit pricey but worth it.$$$$. ? "Do recommend"
Awesome atmosphere, great food, great service. Overall experience is great. Our second time there.
