This past weekend May 21st, had graduation dinner here for my son. The attention to detail, delicious food, and amazing hospitality was just Superb! I am born and raised in North Carolina and my Family and I thought we were back home when we at the Yams, Mac and Cheese, Chicken, and those Catfish Strips! The Banana Pudding was on point also, no complaints. We will be back and as a retired NFL alumni I am sharing the experience with my NY JETS family.
Make sure to check order before leaving. Their food is awesome! My dinners, fried & stew chicken along with fried (fresh) fish. Greens not over cooked & Mac-n-Cheese done very well ratio between noodles and cheese. Yams were on point, not too sweet or under cooked. Cornbread, lovely portion. Banana pudding is tasty and didn't turn colour within 48hrs.
Thinking about the saying that good things do not last long… but I’m praying this restaurant is long lasting. I usually order ubereats from them and literally have never been disappointed… food is ALWAYS on point (please keep that chef around!) and have never messed up my order. I’ve picked up an order at the restaurant before and they were very friendly and efficient. There is a bit of a wait for your food… BUT it’s because they’re usually always busy and plus food will be fresh and delicious when you get it, so it’s worth the wait. Just wanted to give a shout out that’s well deserved !
i guess oxtail is not considered soul food but .... they should consider putting it on their menu ? everything is really good . i personally have never had a problem with .. " salty " or .. well seasoned food in general but , with that being said , if you do , the food is not too salty or overly seasoned in my opinion , but just right ? i highly recommend the catfish > the whiting , as well as the fried shrimp ?? . yams , mac & cheese , & cornbread are great . & i always order a red velvet cupcake with my order as well as the half & half lemonade / sweet tea - the drink is southern style , really sweet though . & the portions are good .??
I haven’t had Sweet Potatoes in over 8 years & I remember why. The cornbread tasted too sweet and didn’t taste homemade. The catfish was okay but didn’t taste seasoned. The Mac and cheese was good but the collard greens tasted sweet. I don’t like sweet greens. Food was packaged well.
Food was great but the customer service sucks. You’ll need attitude adjustment training on the days that y’all are closed. We ordered $200 worth of food and couldn’t even get complimentary corn bread. Do better!!!!
1st time, Orderd short ribs and fried chicken combo.. short ribs was ight but fried chicken was absolutely Gross!! Mad small pieces !! For 30$ such a Rip off !! Never order from this place again!
3 years ago the food watered in your mouth Best food ever spend bank there weekly!!!fast-forward 2/2022 what happened?? That food is definitely not the same oh Noo and I come from BK to get that. I’ll try you’ll again next year I’m not gonna give up!
Food and prices 5 stars. Service is good on most hours. I recommend Sweet Potatoes if you are local.
No one really felt like cooking for Thanksgiving so we pre ordered. We got 1/2 pans of Mac n cheese, collard greens, potatoe salad, cornbread with just a few slices of turkey and ham. Ofcourse we had to taste test today. I'm not sure who's grandma is cooking these tasty meals in the back. Everything was on point ! Perfectly seasoned. Reasonably priced. Will definitely order for the next occasion.
