Interesting place, I was pleased with the chicken gyro! The greens and vanilla potatoes were great!
I first tried Pepe's during late 2020 or early 2021 when many restaurants were fighting to stay open. Anytime I want to treat myself, the Thai Chili Shrimp meal is the ticket! Delicious and well balanced. Customer service is pleasant and the food has been consistent!
I happened to know Pepe great man and makes amazing food amazing food great convo I'm proud to personally kno him and see his growth from beginning to now we spoke on his vision before he opened so I'm truly happy for him continue to amaze and thrive Pepe

I will continue to support this small mom and pop establishment bc I know that I am getting genuine wholesome carefully crafted soul food. I can't always make it to Jacobs or Manna's in Harlem and city island seafood is wayyyy to expensive. Thank you for being such a wonderful gem! Holy cow.....how can I forget the Red Velvet Cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ??????????

I so love this spot. A Diamond in the Ruff so to speak. I ate from here pre-covid and it's a beautiful thing that they are still around and the food is still delicious. I was so hungry I forgot to snap some photos but I had the Chili Shrimp, greens and Mac and cheese. Very enjoyable ☺️
Yummmm! I’m not usually one for fried fish/shrimp and soul food, but I was having a rough day and needed something deep fried. This food was soo satisfying! Hubby and I tried the Thai shrimp, Buffalo shrimp, fried fish, yams, mustard greens and Mac and cheese (yeah we went in! ?). The fish was phenomenal, crisp, flavorful but not really greasy. Both shrimps were good, but I preferred the Thai. The Buffalo shrimp had more heat than flavor…. And no blue cheese dressing?!? The greens were excellent. I LOVED the Mac and cheese. It wasn’t typical soul food Mac and cheese… it was a bit more simple in flavor. My husband did not like it. Ha! He loved the yams, but they were too sweet for me. All in all a very satisfying meal. Definitely recommended if you want something indulgent.

I will start by saying that I am a big fan of buffalo sauce. I read a ton of reviews and articles raving about this place. Many of them seemed hyperbolic. After eating the buffalo shrimp gyro I can confidently say that it is not hyperbole. Before today there were 4 meals I've had in my life that stand out as transcendent. Now there are 5. I never would have imagined a buffalo shrimp gyro from a tiny place in New Rochelle would have a life-changing emotional impact on me, but here we are. If you are a fan of buffalo sauce then stop what you're doing and go here. There is a white sauce on the gyro as well. I don't know if that comes with the platter, but make sure you get it and eat it together with the shrimp.All of the reviews, the articles, and the foodie lists still did not prepare me for what I experienced today. Beware of the impact this shrimp will have. The pre-Pepe era of my life is over, and the vastly different reality of the post-Pepe era has begun in a disorienting yet euphoric haze.
My husband and I came here tonight for the first time and we will be back. We had the fish, yams, potato salad, and turnip greens. Everything was delicious and we plan to frequent this establishment on a regular basis. We’ve been to many Soulfood spots but this by far is in our top three, you will not be disappointed.
