Before the pandemic this place was 5 stars all day. I’m hoping it can get back there soon. I will continue to come back.
Only gave it a star so that I could post a review. Very unpleasant visit. I spent the time waiting for my food, swatting away a few flies. The guacamole was great and so was the margarita but my dinner was BAD. I got the mix plate of chicken, steak and shrimp and ugh! The steak was not well done as I requested, I got 3 shrimp and they were undercooked, and the chicken was as thin as a sheet of paper. The rice and beans portion wasn't enough for the meal. It was literally 3 table spoons full. Although the guacomoles was good I wouldn't even go back for that. To top it off the waiter Tito got upset at his tip mind you, he got a service fee with my meal payment and a cash tip. He literally asked if that was all he was getting. He got that out of courtesy because he wasn't even "waiting" my table. He dropped off the food and then had to be called to clean off the table and provide the receipt.
Honestly I was planning on having dinner elsewhere but they had long wait for table. Lucky for me as I found this Café. Service was excellent as was the food and dessert.
Place is nice , to relax and have some drinks ,good food too.
Mini tacos were great. Highly recommend the chorizo tacos. Great spot for taco Tuesday even without the liquor license. I was disappointed that I wasn't able to try the lengua.
Amazing meal with quality food and great portions.

Mediocre food at best. I was really excited about my red snapper with garlic and onions but was disappointed at what I received. The food was bland the fish was cooked well but lacked any garlic flavor the salad was included with the fish and withered which was gross more so because it included brown avocado the pan the fish came in had an excessive amount of unflavored water which probably came from the steam in the pan or the salad which made the bottom of the fish soggy the rice and beans on the side wasn't beans at all was more of a flavorless bean puree ALL IN ALL I WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS AND SAVED MY $30 PER MEAL AND I GOT 2! Not a good choice for delivery maybe in store would have been better because it definitely didn't travel well.
I've discovered this place about a couple of years ago and I've never been disappointed.. sadly two of the owners had passed of covid ,and so they lost their liquor license which kind of is a disappointment.. however the food is really good.. some things do need to be done.. it's not the best atmosphere in the world, but the food makes up for it.. definitely got to try this place though, if you like Mexican. it's the real deal.. centered in the heart of New Rochelle, on main Street you can't ask for a better spot..⭐⭐⭐
