My opinion is 1/10.The mapo tofu was very salty I don't have picture my bad.You see 2 photos the bottom soup is the one in talking the other soup is from Cheng Du, down the block. The hot and sour soup caused me to have to ?? and ?? from 5 am to 8 am about like 8 times each one ?. I had to force myself to sleep for at least something to stop happening. Then I woke up and had runs for about 4 more hours a couple pills later def stopped it.If you see the soup the mushrooms had some black spots on it and I think they weren't fresh and caused poisoning for me. The soup on the bottom has some cogulated black pepper so I think they used a weird thickening agent but yea ?.Check out my in depth video reviews on any of the platforms below.TikTok: TheUrbanLegend4Instagram: UrbanLegend4Facebook: Panayoti KokalisYouTube: Urban Legend
This place is a hidden gem on Long Island, we made a spontaneous decision to stop by for dinner after running errands on the island all afternoon. Their dry beef stir fry and spicy fish were amazing. Extremely flavorful and authentic Chinese cuisine. If I didn’t live in Brooklyn I would come here more often. Restaurant was nicely decorated and clean. Front entrance had fish and a little wooden bridge for customers to cross. Dishes were decently priced as well. The only down side is that for the two dishes mentioned, and perhaps some other dishes that they need to keep hot, they use a portable disposable burner and bring it right onto the table. The smell was pretty bad and constantly came in the was of enjoying great food, not sure if it’s healthy either. Definitely need to think of another way to keep food warm.
So we went to the restaurant today and ordered the same dish that we used to order. One of them was the boiled fish w/ pickled cabbage & chili, it was nothing like what we had before( probably had it more than 10 times before), the soup was supposed to be creamy white looking but it was yellowish and oily today. Then when we got home my husband and I both had diarrhea, and I also threw up 3 times! I’m still feeling sick right now when I’m writing this. Never going back again!
enjoyed every meal at this traditional Chinese Restaurantservice is first rate. lunch specials are a bonus
Really good place, calm atmosphere. Food is spicy yet super tasty. Place isn’t the cleanest but the food definitely makes up for it.
Food was very good and portions also. They offet a wide variety of entrees in sushi and Chinese dishes. Pleasant atmosphere.
Fantastic food and wonderful, friendly staff. It is one of the few Chinese restaurants I feel safe eating due to a seafood allergy. The little juicy pork buns are amazing!
The absolute best Chinese food! The owner and staff are always pleasant. They will help you with selections if you so desire. Found this gem when they first opened. Have been going on person or taking out at least once a week since.
Best Chinese food I ever had! It’s absolutely fresh all the time! I don’t usually eat there I mostly take out. And even when I take out the food is hot and fresh just made.
This place is a prime example of why you should never judge a book by its cover. I’ve passed by Chef Wang’s for over five years and always thought of it as just any other restaurant. Last night my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to eat with great flavors and this place popped up in our search. It being a Saturday night we had to wait for a half-hour as the place was busy. Upon being seated we waited a while before being waited on for about 10 minutes but once that happened it was all good from there. You’re given salted peanuts while you wait. We order the Scallion Pancake and Sishuan Dumpling with Roast Chili Sauce. They arrived quickly and were great. Salty and savory. For the meal, I ordered the Chicken with orange flavor, crispy and spicy. My girlfriend had the Crispy Shredded Beef with three vegetables. Both come with rice. Both dishes were hot, spicy, and full of flavor. Without the rice, they would be constant flavor bombs, but the rice mellowed it out. The servers were very attentive and friendly. After the meal, we were served oranges to cleanse the pallet. We will be back to try more of the menu.
