Just ate at Double R. I had the whiting and shrimp. Really great. Good fries, excellent coleslaw and I liked the grits. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The food is cooked to order. It tastes great and not greasy. Try it and you will like it
Well, usually the fish is delicious but this Saturday, the was so overcooked that it was like jerky.Also, while I was assured the wait time would be 15 minutes (no big deal) the wait time was actually 48 minutes.What was truly annoying is that my order was placed BRFORE another walk in customer and yet he walked out of the restaurant a solid 15 minutes before me with his orderYou’re probably wondering whether i had a large order or even a complicated order. No. I ordered two orders of fish and shrimp.
Absolutely delicious! Picked up the Cod and Whiting. The breading is seasoned perfectly for this fish. Also bought a 5 piece wing. Glad I did because they were cooked nicely. Add some hot sauce and your good to go. Even had some homemade banana pudding as a dessert special. Friendly people and the inside is inviting. Good music and good food. Can’t wait to go back.

Soooo good!!!! The Sweet Chili wings are BOMB. The staff is friendly and the owner is really cool. The fish and shrimp and FRESH AND SEASONED!!!
This place really stopped me in my tracks!!!!!! I was literally on my way to a whole different restaurant and I seen double r fish and chips I was skeptical because I have not tasted a good fish spot in Orange county since I moved here BUT let me tell you something DAMNNN this place is amazing in all because the customer service was perfect the food was perfect the restaurant was really nice. I got a three piece fish sandwich and when I say these pieces were beyond a great size I'm not exaggerating l I'm simply amazed.... definitely gained a customer!!!!!!!!!!
This place is the best FRESH fish spot in Middletown, atmosphere is clean and chill, the staff are extremely friendly and provide the best customer service. The owner knows how to please the customers, the shrimp are amazingly delicious, fish is fresh and fried just right, not to mention the banging grits to go with it. I highly recommend this place, if you get a chance to visit , you must try the garlic parmesan wings and Mac n Cheese Bites. Do yourself a favor and try it.
I was happy to had finally found a fish & chips spot that reminded me of the Lighthouse in Harlem NY. The food is made to order, large portions, friendly staff & a visibly clean location. Prices are comparable to the area. I can't wait for the addition of steamed seafood & veggies! Hopefully, that will happen soon??
My husband and ordered tonight. They were about to close but the owner was nice enough to let us in and order. I ordered whiting & shrimp, and hubby had all whiting. I also had a slice of the coconut pineapple cake…Maaaaaan……we NEEDED a place like this upstate. When I don’t feel like frying my own fish and shrimp…THIS is my go to!!! Very very good….we highly recommend!???
I kept meaning to get over here and check out the food and I just hadn't been able to make it. Then, yesterday, there was a conversation on Facebook about how amazing this place is and I had to go.I am really happy I decided to go!! Seriously the food is amazing, I ordered some cod, some shrimp, and some chicken just to get a good selection. The cod was perfect, the shrimp are not some tiny little baby shrimp I mean these folks are using good stuff here, and the wings were done fresh and tasted amazing!!!I would go back here anytime!!!!
