Fish and shrimp needed more flavor, french fries had too much salt. restaurant needs to be cleaned. The owner however was very friendly and nice.

It was everything this homesick Georgian could have hoped for. A kind welcome, meatless sides, perfect, stupendously perfect fried fish, crispy, seasoned just right. The offer of a giant squirt bottle of hot sauce soothed my expatriate soul. The choice of a "smaller" portion was welcome. Even though I was officially ravenous, two pieces of fish (whiting) and two sides was the right amount. Collards! Real collards, seasoned like mama, grand mama and all of them would have done. The mac and cheese was correct, not too cheesy, not at all greasy. The owner made me feel truly welcome, and it meant a lot. Did I mention I was homesick?Let me be clear, this is an exceedingly modest spot, tiny, unpretentious, with a lot of leftover artificial poinsettias stored by the door. Yet she has also made an effort to make if colorful and cheerful. You will see what I mean when you go, and you must go, if you have any feeling for soul food. It's the real deal, and she is lovely. I hope to become a regular.

I have live up north now for 4 yrs and when I say this food taste like some good home cookin... and she makes real brewed sweet tea not that powder stuff... fish sandwich was amazing

Cheryl's food is freshly prepared, home cooked, and fantastic. I highly recommend Cheryl's Fried Fish and Soul Food for delicious, home cooked, comfort food. The fried chicken, ribs, mac and cheese, and yams are out of this world. We've ordered from Cheryl's twice and both times the food amazing.Thank you, Cheryl. We'll definitely be back!

I walking in and the lady said hello very nice I order 2pc whiting fish and fries it was good wish the fish had Lil more seasoning but I put hot sauce ketchup and tarter and it helped a lot. She was there alone it looks like she need helps and the place needs to be Lil more cleaner and more organized wish her the best u have to support small business

The place is a dump. The food is unclean and tastes awful. The only soul restaurant in the area and food taste like garbage. She should be ashamed of herself calling it soul foid.

Greet you with arms open very polite very respectful

Cheryl has good and bad days. You get the smothered porkchops or turkey wings they'll be everything you want them to be but you order it again another time and it's not the same. I won't count her out now my husband enjoys her bbq chicken and ribs. I don't care for her greens as they are collards and mustard mixed. Her Mac and cheese is good and so are her yams.

The decor may not be up to par, but do not let that fool you; the food is amazing. It is pure soul food. From the cabbage to the greens, from the Mac and cheese to fries, from the catfish to flounder, even the chicken is flavored to soul food perfection. Pass by Cheryls soul food and be well fed.

I finally got to get food from Cheryl’s Fried Fish. I ordered 2 fish, and 2 sides. I chose greens and yams. It was ready in about 10 minutes, a generous portion, and everything was delicious!! Service was kind & considerate.
