The owner is from Italy they are a lovely family. The menu is extensive with all very delish sandwiches, great salads and dinners prices are very reasonable and they serve wine.
No I won't be giving my money to this restaurant. Stay away. Prices keep going up. And the amount of meat is less and less
Waited over 90 minutes for a soup and a salad. Told me 45min to an hour which was already too long in my opinion. Soup was very small for the price.

I’ve eaten La Bottega before at other locations. They are all very inconsistent with the portions. At this Merrick location, I ordered the Di Rosa salad, they charge you an extra $2.50 for avocado. When I went to pick up my food, I realized I barely had any avocado. I asked them how much avocado they put in the salad for $2.50, they said 1/4. To charge someone $2.50 for a quarter of an avocado (and I promise you, it’s non existent) I’d rather bring my own avocado from home than to spend the $2.50 on a sliver of an avocado. Definitely do not waste your time on the extras & get those “extras” from home. I understand mark ups in the restaurant industry, but at the very least give me a good amount of avocado for $2.50. I’m given nothing. I just threw away $2.50. Never putting extras anymore in the salad.
