So the food was absolutely delicious, from the Lobster roll to the Po Boy shrimp sandwich, I got a side of sautéed spinach instead of fries, however, they sat us outside under a beat up old tent if you will, rain had leaked in and some of the chairs were wet, nothing was wiped down, this back area really needs a face-lift, its such a shame because the food was really top notch, one of the best seafood places I've been to p, please renovate your outside area, oh and the staff was very friendly.

Loved our maiden visit on a Saturday night! Was craving for some seafood that’s not served on disposable plates. Ventured out here on the south shore, right on the water. We loved every dish we ordered. The calamari was great. The raw oysters on half shells hit the spot - we had 3 of each. For the main course I went with the stuffed flounder (which replaced the previous fluke on the menu), and found it delicious. Others had the blackened mahi mahi (tough on the outer layer, but deliciously soft inside), fish and chips (was ok), and the Anchor Down burger with fries (excellent). Will be adding it to our list of authentic seafood spots on the island!

We were in the area on a college visit and wanted to see the beach. After driving around a bit along the shore, we went looking for a place nearby for dinner. The menu at Anchor Down looked great, so we headed there. The place is a bit nondescript...you might describe it as a dive or local hangout. It's back in a boat yard and nothing pretentious about it. In fact, the ceiling is so low I had to watch my head throughout. They wisely have brightened the inside with a white paint job so that really helps it not feel so small and tight as it really is. We didn't have a reservation and on the promise that we would eat quick, they seated us. What happened next was almost like something I'd never seen before. Once our order was taken, the food just came right out. Every person working there was on the ball with everything from refills to processing our credit card. It was honestly breathtaking how fast the food came out and how attentive the service was. By the way, don't let my use of "dive" lead you to assume the food was average. It is not. We all had a very good clam chowder and I ordered the Mahi special (blackened). It was delightful. No room for dessert unfortunately. So to recap, excellent food and even better service...among the best I've ever seen. I highly recommend Anchor Down if you're in the area.

Went here for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was fabulous and not the same ole fare that you find in many other local eateries. Highly recommend.

This past Saturday was our first time at Anchor Down. Our waitress was sweet and very helpful. We had a Tuna Roll for an app. That was fantastic. For dinner we had the Sea Scallops and Montauk stuffed flounder. They were both DELICIOUS! Bourbon Pecan Brownie for dessert was warm, Gooie and decadent. Can't wait to go back!

Fabulous bridal shower today at Anchor Down! Food was delicious. Atmosphere perfect and great day ‼️

It was very nice. Food was great

Went on Saturday night for restaurant week. Had reservations for 6:30. Seated immediately even though they were busy. Our waiter (Zach), was very nice and at the table within 5 minutes to take our drink order. Within another 5 minutes we had our drinks and dinner order taken. The food was excellent and cooked correctly calamari and spinach and bacon salad appetizers, entrees, monk fish & pork chop, and the taste was great. The portions were large . A very enjoyable dinner experience. Will ho back..

Disappointing. Service was superb. Our waiter rocked. Food was something different. Have been to Anchors down in past. All good. Tonight was a total bust. They ran out of two items we ordered: spicy tuna roll and crab cakes. Makes me wonder whether food premade by actual chef who left (we had 8 pm reservations). My pan seared scallops were greasy and inedible. The "rice" they came with was not cooked. My brussel sprouts no taste. My dad's sword fish was not fresh, rather frozen thawed and overcooked no flavor. Wings were gross. Calamari overfried. My sons burger, charbroiled does not mean burned. We returned for new burger which came out raw. How do u screw up burger?? We spent 300 and it was a total waste. Will not back.

Great waterfront lunch
