Such a great place tucked away from the busy streets of LIC. Everything was delicious and the vibe was spot on. We tried some of their favorite options which includes karagge, curry, and cold noodles. Stop by if you’re in the area because you definitely won’t be disappointed!
new American izakaya! Cozy summer island vibes inside (also outside seats). The staff is very attentive to have your order and prepare our seats even though we haven’t make a reservation. We walk in on a weekend noon. We got ramen (one is shio ramen with mucho cilantro) delicious and refresh. However, the drinks macha americano taste less caffeinated than expected. For iced macha latte with almond milk, milk flavor is stronger than macha. If you happened to be nearby and willing to try out non-traditional Japanese food, come visit. They have plenty options from noodles to rice bowl. Maybe to check out their dinner and alcohol next time.
The food was so good but service was really messy. I understand that sometimes events and setbacks overlap. However, whatever we ordered wasn’t on time. The server didn’t understand english very well. The limited special steak was really recommended to us then they told us they served to someone else by mistake and that was the last one. The main course came first. Drinks were always late and etc… but I have to say the food was really delicious.
Loved traveling by to find awesome food. I love having Japanese in the city. I love their menu as it was creative! My kids got the kids ramen with a toy which they both loved. I got the chicken rice bowl that was very delicious! I love all the different flavors! Staff werefriendly and welcoming when we walked in. Prices were good. They had both indoor and outdoor dining. We didn’t get our meals out at the same time however we had a nice time that it didn’t bother us. I appreciate the kids eating first anyways. Thank you! We don’t come to this area often but I definitely recommend and shared on my fb with my friends and family! ♥️?
Takumen has been on our bucket list for a while and we finally got a chance to visit. Their decor is artsy and cool with cozy ambiance & modern furniture. There are Japanese tableware, stationery and adorable ornaments available for sale. The food options on the menu were decent and we got 2 bowls of Spicy Goma Miso Ramen, Soy Garlic Wings, Panko Ebi-Katsu and Avocado Salad to share with a group of 4 adults and 1 kid. The portion was good enough with a little high price in our opinions. We love their chicken wings so much, which was flavorful and juicy. My husband preferred their broth of ramen, which was rich & creamy, but it's too salty for me. The fried shrimp was kind of overcooked and dry inside but with crunchy layer. There is both indoor (vaccination cards required) & outdoor seating available but it's super popular that reservation is highly recommended.
pros: the food was fresh, kind wait staff and fun atmosphere.cons: the service was incredibly slow. it took 20 minutes for the waitress to even come to our table, and just as long to get the check. A large table that came in after us got served much faster, but the smaller tables were neglected. it’s small and cramped inside, with one bathroom so a line forms for it quickly. for a place that charges premium pricing for ramen, service should be better. In an area that has a lot of good options, this doesn’t cut it.
One of the best ramen places we’ve ever been to. We went on 8/2021 and again today and the consistent quality doesn’t disappoint. We ate the Spicy Goma-Miso Wantan-Men for noodles. For appetizer, we got the nori-Shio potato fries, Panko shrimp and fried tako. Everything was so flavorful and just perfect. Highly highly recommend!!!
a truly wonderful ramen experience. the wonton ramen was very tasty and the special doughnut dessert options hit the spot.
Excellent spot. Not your run of the mill ramen place. Flavors were very clean. Ban Ban Chicken should be called yum yum
Delicious and filling Japanese rice bowls stuffed with pickled veggies and crispy karaage chicken or soy-kissed tuna poke with black sesame. The aesthetics are a millennial’s dream: lots of exposed light wood features, and plants everywhere.
