The coffee was surprisingly good! I also ordered a CC bagel and that was good too. Only regret was not ordering a bigger size latte.\\n\\nAlso, loved the outdoor seating but do note if you drive, that area has little to no parking.

Absolutely lovely spot! The fresh mint tea is incredible - huge, fresh mint leaves that taste so good. I added a little bit of honey and it was perfect. The decor and aesthetic of the bakery is really pretty. Also, the fresh baked goods are delicious! The chocolate chip cookie, pan au chocolate, and parmesan \\u0026 leek croissant are all incredible! Couldn’t recommend this spot enough.

Great quick brunch place! Went to LIC location because we needed a place that would take less than an hour so we could make a ferry in Gantry Park. They have counter service so it is fast, but the table seating is relaxed and pleasant like a regular restaurant.\\n\\nI am gluten free and they had bread for any sandwich order. They recommended the Avocado Toast. I’m not a millennial so this was my first try for this item. The gf bread was very good, the avocado was ripe, the poached egg was ideal - fully-cooked white and runny yolk, and the micro-greens added the flavor. Making it dairy-free was not an issue.\\n\\nMy friend liked his burrito a lot too, but it was not gf so I didn’t try it.\\n\\nThe homemade lemonade with mint was just right.\\n\\nI liked the open, airy feel and the big, southwest facing windows, and the whitewashed interior. Bright and cheerful. Bathroom was tidy.\\n\\nStaff was nice and helpful and knowledgeable.\\n\\nHighly recommend.

Too good to be true !

Both salmon \\u0026 avocado toasts were amazingly delicious, the salad was fresh with great taste.\\nservice was quick even for the food.\\nEvery other person in the neighborhood is walking with a branded cup or food bag of the black star bakery and it is obvious why!

Nice location of two that are near each other; right near the park and waterfront! I walked by and smelled fresh pastries being baked and it smelled amazing so I had to stop in in try. I was happy to find this cafe was open late comparatively, into the evening which was exciting. This bakery and cafe is styled so nicely inside! I was really blown away by the atmosphere and the wonderful music selection they had playing. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable to my questions about the products (which you’d be surprised how many people are just showing up and know little about what they’re serving) so that also was nice. I got some pastries and some coffee and the coffee was pretty good. More of a medium with a chalkiness like cafe bustello ; which if you like is the style I got served. I prefer it more dark with less of that grit but it was good. It’s really a nice store to sit in and recharge between moving spaces. My friend got mushroom tarts to take home and raves about them; buys them in the multiples! So definitely would recommend them. Good croissants too and the waffles. It’s a nice spot with also a nice, very stylish, and VERY clean bathroom which is always worth an extra star and worth mentioning. 6/5 for that. Great cafe! Assorted croissants like everything croissant and churro croissant , as well as cake pops too! Check them out!? ☕️ ?

I really like black star cafe and definitely recommend it as a very cute cafe with good quality food and coffee. The reg coffee is consistently great, but the lattes have oscillated between incredible and mediocre. I do kinda believe that if you pay $6+ for a latte it should be amazing but you can’t count on it. But maybe that’s on me for buying a $6+ latte. Service oscillates the same way. Most everything is overpriced, but sometimes it’s totally worth it! It’s the ambiance and gamble on quality that always keeps me coming back for more ? they do have wifi but not for customers

Atmosphere is good, the cranberry muffins. The croissant sandwiches all good. Everyone is nice.

Cute spot by the LIC waterfront. We stopped in to grab some breakfast on a Sunday morning. We tried to avocado toast #2 with gluten free bread add egg and the breakfast bowl (naturally gluten free). Overall food was mediocre especially for the price. Might be better for just coffee & pastries.

Great location if you want to have some coffee / breakfast by the waterfront. They have a variety of coffees including cappuccino and espresso. Prices are good. They also have fresh breakfast menu including croissants and bagel sandwiches. Can become crowded at certain times. Will recommend.
