Pasta was delicious. Bread was phenomenal. Had I gotten a pizza, I know it would have been wonderful. Good and friendly service.
Listen, there are a lot of pretenders to the throne of wood fired, gourmet pizza in Kingston. But La Florentina is both the original and best in the business. I've been getting incredible food there for almost 20 years, and it's still one of my top choices for dinner in Kingston.
Ordered a pizza and salad was quoted 25 mins, got there in about 20 mins and paid. Was told food would be out any minute and they bagged the salad and placed on counter. After about an hr (getting increasingly annoyed of the dying salad) of waiting and not seeing a cheese pizza going into the oven I asked about the pizza and questioned a refund as I understand it’s busy but there’s no way it would take this long. After an employee apologized and pushed the blame on another worker something about they take there own orders and he wasn’t aware of mine even though he was the first person I talked to upon walking in and asking about picking up and paying. They refunded my card and as a cancellation prize I won a free warm wilted salad. No pizza.. Yay! If you are someone who picks up dinner on the way home from a 10hr day avoid this place like the plague. Stressed and hungry to say the least. I understand issues arise but it’s how you handle them and you lost a possible regular customer.
Three of us went on a Wednesday night. It wasn't busy, we were seated right away. Our waiter was very nice and very professional, First we had AMAZING "puffy bread"; which comes out as a ball full of steam with seasonings on top- outstanding. This was followd by baked clams, very good.One of us had Chicken Francese, which was also very good. But the highlight was the CALZONES, which are nothing like tghe ones you get elsewhere. They are flatter and huge, with a thinner lighter crust, and many varieties of fillings. I had the Napolitano, which has clams, garlic, onions, tomato, mozzarella and provolone, and it was exquisite- the flavors were so perfectly blended and totally delicious.We also had the Eggplant Calzone- another wonderful blending of tastes. I cannot wait to go back on my next trip- you know the feeling you get when something is so great that you just want to share it with everyone? This is that feeling, I hope you go and enjoy it as much as we did!
Delicious! The Buffalo chicken Pizza was a special the night I went. Best one I've had ever. Had a long overdue date night with my wife and was not disappointed!
They accommodated all of us; everything from pita bread as started to pizza to pasta and incredible purple cabbage calzone was delicious and superior service! Highly recommend in Kingston. Best part is most dishes can be made Gluten-free !
Great food, good size portion of food. Great service. The place was renovated and looks amazing. Only downside is menu has limited options. Not sure if this is due to COVID or if it's the regular menu. Sorry I did not ask. Otherwise this is a good establishment to eat alone or with family.
Exquisite food that runs that gamut from traditional to innovative! Our favorite pizzas are the stuffed one with cabbage (sounds weird but is wonderful) and the 4 mushroom. They have a fantastic artichoke and shrimp dip &great wine list and service. We've been a few times for sit down and a bunch for pick up. What a gem!
Amazing food and atmosphere. The house wine and bread are amazing as are just about everything on the menu. Don't let the exterior fool you, this place is as good of an Italian restaurant as you'll find in all of Ulster County.
The Italian food at this restaurant was just amazing. The pizza was fresh and inspired. The pear - apple salad was perfect. The building needs a bit of work. It is a bit dated, hopefully coming out of COVID will help. Otherwise, this is the place to stop for a great Italian meal.
