I've never been there in person but I've had food from there 3xs. So far I've had the fried fish, yams, mac and cheese and banana pudding. They were DELICIOUS. What I didn't like was the collard greens. Too dry and bland for my liking. And I recently tried the chopped bbq. That was a FLOP. Other than those two items, I really enjoyed it. I'm actually having some fish catered from there for an upcoming party.
Great spot for some Soul food. The serving sizes are huge. Dinner plates come with 2 sides & a main dish. They have a variety of meats to choose from, bbq chicken; jerk chicken, ribs, etc. I ordered Whiteys plate which comes with 4 pcs of fish, and 2 sides - Mac & cheese with cabbage. I also ordered yams, and black eye peas with a side of jerk chicken. Everything taste so good. The plates are filling & delicious
I’m FINISHED ordering food from this restaurant! Ordered a rib dinner, rice and peas with collard greens with a side of potato salad, and banana pudding for dessert ….Ribs were hard & cold, rice tasted old and dry!, and the greens were disgustingly BITTER…This IS NOT a Soulfood restaurant…They’ve made a mockery of Southern cooking - I realized people cook differently, but garlic in potato salad??? When I opened the container, the odor/stench of garlic was ALL I smelled- their food is disgustingly RIDICULOUS! The banana pudding was Very good, I’d purchase again, but everything else went into the garbage!
It seems everyone orders these boxes of frozen Whiting fish. I don't like them, they are to big and dry out to fast. All their other food is excellent
What a disappointment. I hadn't visited this restaurant in NYC since 2017. It looked down inside and there was not much to the menu. It wasn't appetizing to me it my friend that I brought with me. I was actually embarrassed. Can't say how the food tastes because I didn't order any....
The food was plentiful and delicious! Mac and cheese melted in my mouth and the whitings were seasoned and fried to perfection! My rice and peas didn't rate high. They were edible but were a little undercooked - slightly hard to the bite in some parts. Could get 2 meals out of this. Picture taken after I already started eating. Purchased on eve of 03/16/2022
Got some UEats from here a couple of weeks ago. I was glad that the portions were decent. I got a heaping plate of chicken and sides and was very happy. Most importantly, the food was really good. I think I let my smothered chicken sit too long and it got soggy but I can't blame them for that. I would recommend and will be coming back.
What happened to this place!!!! You call you get transfered and sent to voicemail no matter when you call.... Ordered with Uber Eats and I guess I have a common name first name because my order never arrived but I did get another Crystals order... Filled with everything I can't eat!!! The driver said no error that was the order he was given so we try to contact the restaurant to inquire and fix the issue because the error was on their hands for giving the wrong order but nothing...I won't be patronizing again. I'm just cook it myself at home .. Home made is always better anyways

First time I went there it was nice food was affordable & tasty, so we went back during the Holidays was really busy . We came from Weschester through word of mouth spent a lot of money , only to get home and get calls from friends about the lousy fried chicken no taste seemed like it wasn’t seasoned just floured and fried . My suggestion don’t buy unless it’s on the steam table, when busy fried food isn’t cooked with love. We all threw chicken away! Waist of money .
