The people and food here were so good! They were super flexible, bathrooms were super clean, the restaurant was spacious as well. Ordered 4 dishes and the pricing was mediocre — the best part was the thai tea. it was delicious and everything was so fresh and flavorful! Would definitely come back again if I wasn’t on vacation.
Wonderful soup, and a nice calm spot to sit. However some beverages are interestingly priced and there was no manager there fore to ask or when I called backed later.
Food was fine but overpriced for what you get. The online app for ordering said they were closed (but they weren't) so I called my order in instead. Was charged about 20% more than what the app said the total would be. I ordered some Gyoza and was extremely disappointed to find they only gave me 4 dumplings but charged about $10 for it.... I could have bought a dozen of them at Wegmans for half the price.... Overall disappointing
Very good food. Expensive but in line with what we have been spending, except for the bottle of beer, always good with Thai food ($8), and the dumplings at $10 for only four dumplings. Both overpriced, we thought. Atmosphere was very nice, and service was excellent.
Terrible service here. First time I came here, came with my boyfriend, they sat us down and didn’t come to our table for 30 minutes. Ok, maybe they’re just understaffed. We order- then, they bring us the wrong order. We try to tell them and they get mad at us for ordering wrong? Trying to force dumplings on us that we never ordered, but they finally took them away and brought them over to another table. The food was pretty good, both pad thai and pad see ew were pretty yummy. However, they forgot we had to pay, and didn’t give us the bill after another 30 minutes of waiting. They don’t give me my card back for another 20. I have to ask for my card, they get mad because they told me they gave my card back. They go to the back and grab my card- they had taken it and forgotten.Ok, one bad experience, fine.So I decide to order from there again a few weeks later. Got some thai iced coffee and some food, and the thai iced coffee tastes like straight cigarettes. I love thai iced coffee….this was not it. I call grubhub and explain, they refund a couple dollars. However! A few minutes later I get a phone call from thai basil. The woman is screaming on the phone to me telling me im a thief and to give them the food back. They want me to drive the food back to them because Im a thief when I just got a 3 dollar refund. The food is fine here, but the people here are the most rude, mean, confused people I have ever come across in food service. I would avoid if you don’t want to be yelled at or get your credit card almost taken from you.
We were visiting Ithaca for the first time on a Friday night. We called several places but they did not have any tables available. We found a place not in town but could not get in for over an hour. We took it and decided to do down town and walk around and see what we found. We were able to find a parking spot along the street and started to walk along State Street. We soon came along to Thai Basil. My wife had read some good reviews so we walked in. They had one table available that would fit three. We intended to just get an appetizer but quickly decided to stay for dinner and cancelled our other reservation. The Tom Yum soup is one if the best I have had. A little smokier and not as strong lemon grass as others. The Thai Fried rice with chicken was also one of the best I have had. It was not the spiciest, but the flavor was full and the vegetables were fresh. My wife also loved her duck Thai basil dish. There seemed to only be one waitress but she was friendly and efficient. We never had to wait very long. This was a great find!
The food was good! The massaman curry is honestly delicious. Pretty reasonably priced, and the service was good. The reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because my friend's pad thai smelled a little off, to the point that he couldn't finish it (and he usually loves pad thai). You should still eat here, just don't get that dish!
I wouldn’t recommend. Made reservations but still waited at the door for 20 minutes before someone showed up to seat us. Our drinks order was taken late. One at a time. My drink came out mid way into my dinner. I am sorry, I read the rest of the reviews, but I highly disagree with everyone’s assessment of the quality of the meal. WORST THAI FOOD I EVER TASTED. Soup was bad, salad was bad and main course was bad. Didn’t offer the most popular items on the menu??? And for gods lake, do not spray highly potent Lysol spray right next to the customers eating their meals. All of us got sick on our way back home. I still have the taste and smell of Lysol spray in my mouth and throat. Absolutely disgusting. What is the point of observing CDC mask regulations if you get customers sick of inhaling highly potent chemicals while dining? To top it off, their credit card machine was out of order and they sent us on a hike and search for an ATM machine in 7 degree weather. Never again.
Great food, great service, great aesthetics.Loved the Royale Tom Yum soup and the duck fried rice (though had to add a bit more spice).
Very tasty food, good size portions, with cozy atmosphere. The appetizers were also very good. Fast service. Very friendly people as well.
