Dining out with my children is typically stressful due to their food allergies, but the people at Sumo made my dinner more enjoyable by being so accommodating. They ensured that the kids' food was made in a separate area as to avoid cross contamination with dairy, egg, and fish. The kids' food came out exactly at the same time as our hibachi chef was done making the food for our table! Everything tasted amazing and I would surely return next time I'm in Ithaca! Thank you!
My friend had eaten here many times. This visit was my first.. The waitress forgot utensils. Then mixed up our order Then took our utensils and brought more courses, each of us without utensils on separate occasions. I know it is hard to find help these days. The coconut vegetable rice was good. Pricey. The place was clean. Parking is ample.
The inconsistency of sushi is unbelievable. I just ordered 2 days ago and the jumbo spider was made completely different this time. Then after charging me 18 dollars for 4 scallops.... literally they chased me out the door asking for a tip. The food is completely overpriced and the taste is underwhelming. The rude host that followed me and my party asking for a tip was a joke. My waitress had to be called to my table for refills, while her and her fellow coworkers just stood round the register and gossip with hopes of a good tip. I'll rather spend 140 during lunch time at a red lobster then this joint.
This place is amazing! Sitting at the hibachi tables or in the regular seating area, the food does not disappoint. This has become my new favorite restaurant for celebrating anything. Their hibachi, ramen, and sushi are all immaculate.
I've only ever gotten hibachi here, which is honestly arguably my favorite restaurant food in Ithaca. All of the hibachi chefs are super fun - they'll give you free sake and try to flip zucchini into your mouth. I highly recommend every Hibachi combo - they're all really good. In addition, the fried rice, noodles, soup, and salad they provide are also very good.
Overpriced for the portion size and quality. Spent over $100 for two people--should have gone to Wegmans for better quality, more sushi, and less money. But the worst thing is that my wife and I both got sick. Definitely not going back.
Great food. Service was crappy took us almost an hour to get refills on our drink. Also had to go get our own containers because they were sitting out near the bar eating.
If your looking to enjoy dinner with family or friends I do recommend this place especially hibachi food.

The experience was amazing. Food, ambience and the lighting were great. Definitely try the Hibachi Lunch Or Dinner along with Red wines.
