It was nothing to write home about. The only food that seemed to have any flavor was the gumbo which was very good. The rest I could take or leave as we had to add salt to every dish. The cornbread tasted like it was day old and stale. In the end, we left still hungry $80 later.Service was efficient but they were very apparant about being stressed out. In the end they just tapped the table and said "you're good," and ran off.The interior was very cramped and a bit chaotic as people shuffled in between each other to get in and out. I would not rush back.

Right out of the gate, our waiter was so friendly and happy to see us, the manager was smiling and said hello. The food and drinks have been amazing for years, but we don't always get such warm service in Ithaca. Everything about this experience was pleasant.

Stopped in with my wife and kids and had a great time. I’d take a bath in the tasso gravy if I could. The service was fantastic…great teamwork at Maxie’s. If we’re ever back in Ithaca, it will be specifically to eat at Maxie’s again.

Food alright, service a bit forgetful. Waited for 15min for an order of beers before we could order. We ordered a grilled barbecue chicken sandwich and it came back to the table fried. I ordered the seafood gumbo. Ok nothing special.

It was an amazing experience, especially considering the fact that you get fresh seafood in Ithaca. I had ordered a fried chicken, jambalaya, crab cakes and fried tofu with mixed vegetables. From the raw bar I had raw clams, oysters and shrimps. Everything except the clams were amazing in my opinion. A must visit for all the seafood lovers.

Really good food, and really nice staff. I left my wallet here and only realized after they’d closed, but they let me come by and pick it up and someone brought it out for me, which really saved my life. :)

The atmosphere was not what I expected. It's not modern or fancy, more of a bar atmosphere. Some of our tables food was ok, my Salmon was great! Good oysters.

They do a great job with the many gluten free options on their menu. We love the restaurant for good food, bouncy ambiance and live music (pre-pandemic). Now we also need the gluten free menu choices. We highly recommend.

Some plates were okay but some were disgusting. Spent $160 there and had so much leftover which I didn’t want to box it. Very surprised with the manager who was extremely rude and engraved with pathetic hospitality mindset.

Visiting the area for the weekend and I’m glad we stopped here! If you like seafood packed with tons of flavor, then this is your place! Food was delicious and the service was top notch. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time as you will need one. Highly recommend. Great spot!
