We were in town for the weekend and heard good things about this place. The cocktails were just meh. The Garlic Cheesy Bread was a really good appetizer to start with. The beef short rib was really good but the shrimp scampi didn’t live up to the hype. The Bolognese was a good choice that our waiter Sophia recommended. Service here was very good and quick.
Great service. Best hostess I’ve had and seen!! Great food as well. Ithaca is beautiful!! Can’t wait to come eat again!!
Everything tasted great! The flavors were excellent, the service was quick and the wait staff were super friendly. I would definitely recommend.
Several restaurant choices on the Commons so we walked around to check them out. Mahogany Grill had a good crowd eating outside and the menu worked for us. We were seated right away inside and had our bar drinks quickly served. The small Mediterranean salad was fresh and a hefty portion. The chop house burger was delicious. Our server, Jenn, was efficient and kind and made the evening pleasant. We would like to return but just passing through on a road trip.
Loved loved loved! Me and my boyfriend came for the weekend and after a day of waterfall hiking we were famished. Came here and it didn’t disappoint! Server was excellent! Very good at describing food and flavor! We got the short ribs and the salmon meal and split them! I can’t pick which one I liked better it was that good! Would recommend to anyone! It had outdoor seating ! It had take out eat in! The older building was beautiful! Had a lot of character! We sat by the window loved watching the hustle and bustle of the area!
Overall, the food is pretty good. The outdoor area is also very comfortable, and we love that it was dog friendly. However, there are 2 reasons I am giving this place 3 stars…. 1. We were visiting from out of town, so when I was planning our trip, I had called to ask about dog friendly seating. The person that answered the phone was unbelievably rude, treating me as if every question I asked was stupid. 2. Once we were actually there, we dined outside with a very nice waiter. I got takeout a couple of days later, and the bartender, Justin, was beyond rude. He basically threw the takeout bag onto the bar in front of me, and didn’t even make eye contact with me and acted like he didn’t have time for me. I asked him if I could tip him on my card, and he pointed at the book and said “Uhm, yeah, right there?” With some serious attitude. He didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. I did recognize his voice, so I’m pretty sure this is the rude employee who I spoke on the phone with before our trip. I usually never write reviews like this because I am a server and have been for 10 years, so I understand that everyone has bad days. But this type of treatment is unacceptable, sorry.
This was somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. The service was great. The food was OK. Not a place I would be excited about going back to.
I just had a fantastic meal with great service. I am on a gluten free diet and the waiter was able to satisfy my craving for chicken Parmesan with a gluten free version. I couldn’t believe the way the pasta tasted and the great way it had been prepared. Gluten free can be tricky. What impressed me the most, however, was that, without asking, the waiter served me gluten free bread as well as the standard bread served to my wife. These touches are what separates good from great! Thanks!
The was a nice find in the Commons. We arrived around 5 and were seated right away. The staff was friendly. Our food was delicious and the tomato dipping sauce with the bread was amazing. The garlic cheese bread is also a must have. We will definitely be back.
Have had good dining experiences here consistently. For starters, the crab cakes always deliver, seasoning on calamari is good and the salads are fresh. This place has good pasta options too - garlic pesto gnocchi and butternut squash alfredo are my favorites.
