I've been a Huntington resident for thirty plus years, and I've driven past T.K.'s at least a few hundred times in my lifetime, but I've never thought to stop in. I don't know why; maybe it's because from the outside the establishment looks... how should I put this? Dingy. Worn. Dated. Take any combination of pronouns you want, from the outside, this place looks like something you'd want to pass by.But that's where you'd be making a mistake.I stepped inside and was immediately taken by the decor - it's a mix of eclectic boating memorabilia, memorial photographs of long-time patrons who've crossed the Rainbow bridge, and a fun mixture of hoaky kitsch and other tchotchke knickknacks. The furniture is dated - yes, its well worn in - but there's a familiar warmth about it that is calming and familiar, like a favorite blanket or cozy sweatshirt you love to slip on.I ordered the eggs and corn beef hash, rye toast, coffee and a side of sausage.I take coffee at a diner very seriously. It's one of the signatures of an establishment. If the coffee is horrible, it's a poor representation of whatever else you have to offer. If the coffee is just 'normal', that is to say, 'decent', then I know to expect a relatively neutral meal - its neither great, nor is it awful; it just 'is'. But if you have excellent coffee, then I know that the diner takes their food and the dining experience seriously.THE HASH IS HOMEMADE. This is a VERY pleasant surprise - and what's more, the hash is excellent. As for the side order of sausage... I expected 2 or 3 shriveled, sad sausages from what I guage as the 'norm' from other diners in the area, so you could imagine my surprise when three, huge, split and grilled sausages arrived on a plate along side my eggs and hash. The food was excellent - very tasty indeed.Donna, my waitress, was wonderful and very sweethearted. She made simple small talk and kept everything light and airy.All-in-all, T.K.'s is a greasy spoon - a rather surprising greasy spoon. The food was excellent, I liked the ambiance of the establishment, and for the price, I'd wager its probably the best 'bang for your buck' diner related in the Huntington area.I will gladly recommend this mainstay establishment and I will absolutely be back. T.K.'s is, without question, one of the best culinary surprises I've discovered in recent years. And while she may not be the prettiest girl at the ball, she is the girl you want to have that second dance with.
Great food great service. Real down home feel. Eggs Benedict with lobster unbelievably great!
Great place. Food is fantastic services good and the prices are fair.
If you want to get Covid and be disrespected at the same time TK's Galley is the place for you! My husband and I thought this was a wonderful restaurant until today. We have been going there for 15 years. We will not be going back, Hubby sent me ahead to get a table for two, while he parked to car. The restaurant was very crowded. There was no social distancing between the tables, nor were there plastic partitions. I was shown a table, I was concerned my husband wouldn't; want to sit there due to Covid concerns. While I was waiting for him to come in, a woman and her daughter entered looking for a table for two. The hostess demanded that I tell her if I was going to keep the table or not. I explained my husband was coming in from the parking lot and he would decide. She then told me I would have to move she could seat the new arrivals, at that table. My husband arrived, it got nest and we left. I called the owner "TK" from the parking lot to protest. His response was that he was very busy and "couldn't be bothered with this"' and hung up on me. If you wish to be treated like garbage you will enjoy this place. Otherwise...stay away!! Business owners liek "TK" are the kind of people who do not deserve your business.
An absolute hidden gem. Wondering how and why I didnt find this place sooner.
