This is my favorite Indian food spot on LI. Having allergies and eating out can sometimes be scary or limiting. No peanut oil is used in their cooking, and if you do have any allergies they are taken seriously. Great service, friendly staff and it’s always busy here. Also portion sizes are pretty decent!
Their food is consistently rich and delicious. I’ve ordered several times, often getting their korma dishes and paneer based offerings. The food is always packages tightly and with portions to match their cost. I’ve never tried the buffet offerings but their menu items have always been consistently good.
They opened there buffet again after 3 years. It is terrible after reopening. Chicken is the only meat during the week and they charge $14.95. No Naan and the rice was hard. The taste of the chicken seems like they ran out of spices in the kitchen. I wonder if they kept the rice in the back and chicken in the freezer for the past 3 years.I don’t recommend them now. I used to eat here all the time…I can definitely live without them. Even if they charged me more it would have been fine if they had more dishes. I could understand because of the economy. But if you simply give bad food then it is not worth going at all. I don’t plan on it.
Last time we were here was when they offered buffet services several years ago. That is no longer the case and it's a la carte. We ordered a couple of mango lassi's, samosa's, chicken tiki masala, aloo golbi and Naan. Everything had a good temperature and the sauce in the chicken tiki masala was terrific. It was alot of food, but at the same time was a third higher due to everything that has been occurring with the pandemic and inflation making everything cost most for less.
Not even a roll of Bounty could save this meal. I wanted to like this dinner, I really did. It smelled wonderful driving home in the car, but when I arrived home and laid eyes upon the oil spill of a meal I just couldn’t stomach it. I’m surprised a place would serve this. The search for decent Indian food on the island thus continues.
Diwan has always had the best Indian food in the neighborhood. But after a simple mistake was corrected so perfectly by Mac, I can also say their customer service is top notch too. They really want you to have the best food and best dining experience there. It may be pricier than other places, but it's worth it if you can afford it. Highly recommend!
Great Indian restaurant with great flavors and a very nice staff. Every time I order from this place, I get the same great flavor and service.I have never dined in so I cannot talk on the dine-in experience but, they are pretty good with their take out time and service.Price is a bit high for the locale but, its worth it because a single serving of any 'sabzi' is enough to last you two days.Their flavor is really what makes this place so good. From their non-vegetarian options to vegetarian ones, they have a simple and original flavor profile.Overall, definitely recommended.
Experience wasn’t bad. The food was a bit a of a miss, but it was still pretty decent. Prices are a bit high compared to neighboring restaurants & the service was pretty nice.
Great service the order taker answered our questions regarding the food and recommended dishes that would go well together.Amazing food. Would definitely recommend this place.Had Rogan Josh, Butter chicken, and Chicken Biryani, Mango Lassi, Masala Chai.It was so good.
This was my first time eating Indian food, and it was so good! I got a mild Lamb Makhani that was so flavorful and tender, totally blew my expectations out of the water. The sauce was incredible. The staff were polite (not overly attentive) but the experience was good and the food was outstanding. Highly recommended.
