We are not fans of price fixed menus and prior to Easter Sunday we had always been pleased with the Views regular menu. We there fore decided to make the best of the menu on our visit on Easter SundayWe were mostly pleased with that experience, as the food was good , except for the dessert. We decided to come back on Mother’s Day but called the day before to ask if they would be serving from their regular menu. We were told that they would. Well when we arrived on Mother’s Day we were greeted by another price fixed menu. We decided to stay and asked if they could accomodate our two grandchildren with special orders. Our 7 yr old was no problem but our 14 yr old balked at a price fixed menu. We received an accommodation on his befall but the rest of the meal for the rest of us was a culinary disaster. The soup was advertised as a sea food bisque. Instead we were served a orange watery broth which nearest fish could be found on Long Island sound. The Caesar salad was a poor facsimile to anything imaginable, certainly NOT a Caesar. It was the first time I experienced a Caesar that had r to be eaten with a spoon. Tiny pieces of shredded lettuce with matching tiny croitons. The main course most of our party chose was the steak. Satisfactory buy they added $10 the the cost and our request for mashed potatoes was met with the excuse they had run out,. I ordered salmon and although it was well prepared I don’t think serving a grown man a piece of salmon about 31/2 ounces is satisfactory. Finally they had three offerings for dessert. A chocolate cake with ice cream was acceptable. The carrot cake I ordered was two pieces of some kind of cake about the size of my thumb. Even worse my wife ordered the strawberry short cake. She got a piece of a strawberry, about a teaspoon worth of whipped cream and a sliver of cake about on inch by 1/2 an inch.We paid full price adding $ 40 to the cost for four steak dinners, I guess price fix meant they were going to fix it.we frequent a couple of local diners whose regular fare would put this meal to shame and for far less than half the price. The view will not view us again
Horrible Experience The bathrooms smell like death My wife couldn’t stop dry heaving It’s been 40 minutes and they still haven’t clean the bathroom- both of them The chef told me she was a well-known renowned cook for her food she told me to come in and she will cook me a dinner and then I can review her and I told her no I’m coming in surprising you and then I will give you a rating It is now 7:42 PM we ordered at 6:18 our main course and we just got our salads We are a party of 40 people I will never ever recommend this place to anybody 0/10 .
We had of our daughter’s sweet 16 in Summer 2021.We are so glad and thank God we booked it here !The owner Mr Fred ( if I remember correctly) is very accommodating and easy to work with .They are reasonably priced that’s a huge plus .The main chef Jeanine (owner’s wife ) is a very sweet down to earth person.The food was delicious and catered to our taste.The servers were very good too.My daughter’s friends still talk about how memorable her birthday was … the view was an add on definitely .Thank you “View Grill”!
We celebrated my brother’s 50th birthday this past Saturday at The View Grill. It was a pleasure working with Fred to plan the event—everything was done just as I requested. Chef Jeanine, as usual, prepared our scrumptious entrées and Susie and Ed were so helpful and attentive. All of our guests had a great time. I highly recommend this venue for any occasion!
Gorgeous restaurant! Very nice people. Very welcoming and kind. The customers are even really nice! All around good people and a good place! A beautiful view of Long Island Sound! This chef is one of the best in the country. Award winning. Delicious, perfectly cooked meals. Flavorful. Thanks VIEW! Stop by. Chef Jeanine is amazing. Susie and all are nice as well. Moderately priced, a nice bar. Good social setting.
We took a couple of friends to The View Grill and the food was ? AMAZING. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and the Server Kim was awesome. Come and see for yourself.
They try..nice people..place was old and decor was lacking..the food was AOK with no real complaints..waitress was adorable and attentive just right..definitely check it out..we had fun there you will too.

I had my wedding reception here and the Chef Janine along with her staff created an unforgettable experience, with excelent service and amazing food from presentation to flavor, all my guest were delighted. Thank you very much!! Highly recommend this place!
