I would probably consider this a sub par halal food restaurant compared to other halal restaurants on the island. Their white sauce taste like mayonnaise and their brown rice is nowhere near as good as many of their competitors.
NY Chicken & Rice was a great addition to the community. The food was decent, and the price was good. Operative word being was. The quality has gone downhill, but the price hasn't (it has gone up nearly 30%). At first, I thought it was just one order with an issue (I found long strands of hair in my food), so I continued to order hoping to never have another issue. But, I soon found out that it was not a fluke experience, Every order since this order has had issues. The biggest reoccurring issue is the portion size. I have noticed that if I order two of the same orders, they give me one portion size split across the two containers (of course charging me for both orders though). This has happened on EVERY single order since the first issue. They have lost our business, along with the business of all the other students at my college. I suggest you look elsewhere, huge disappointment.
git the chicken gyro everything was amazing staff was extremely nice and friendly. only thing i would say is the tzatziki needs lemon juice and some more salt then it will be perfect
Love this place and would recommend, BUT lately the last 4-5 times I have ordered, the special instructions left through UberEats isn't being read.
Probably the worst chicken and rice place. For the money, I expected a lot better. Food is so bland.

Used to go here all the time for amazing food - went back for the first time in a very long time (over a year) and was disappointed. I ordered street cart chicken, but got lamb which I don't eat, and ordered street cart white sauce, but got tzaziki or something... Every one of my friends all had at least 1 thing wrong with their orders, as well.The place was freezing cold, and smelled like -ahem- "skunk". When I got home and saw my food orders all messed up, I realized why it smelled like that.I might go back sometime just to see if this was a fluke, but I definitely wish it had made a better impression on my friends, who were trying the place out for the very first time.
Yellow Rice has NO FLAVOR! The blandest rice I have EVER tasted. Tastes like they didn’t even bother to put salt on it. Ruined the whole meal.
