Great Food, Great Service, Great Prices Great at Lunch time with their 'Quick Bites' menu available before 5:00PM. About $15.00 gets you entree, non-alcohol beverage, and one side. Even less expensive if you only order the entree!

Food was great!

While this place doesn't have the curb appeal of many of the restaurants on the Nautical Mile, the food stacks up with almost all of them. We almost didn't go there because my wife thought it looked a bit dark and depressing from the outside (it was a cold winter night and the place was mostly empty), but we gave it a shot and we're glad we did. It's not fancy, but was much more inviting on the inside. And the food was excellent. The shrimp was tremendous and I had an oyster po-boy that was so good I started taking tiny bites just to make it last longer. All for a much lower cost than most of the overpriced places along the Nautical Mile.

The Crab Shack has been around forever, I just visited after not being there for 20 years and it was just as good as I remember. I had the salmon, cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Prices are great for the Freeport waterfront and the waitress was actually friendly and not rushed. Great Dinner

Under new management as of a couple of months ago, the new ownership is kicking it up a notch with fresh seafood and ingredients combined with flavors that are both original and well tested. The newest creation is the all-in-One Pan pot that has a little of everything, and can still be adjusted with add ons for those that love any particular seafood. Some of my favorites include the Calamari with homemade secret sauce, Alaskan King Crab legs, Lobster in the roll and "Pan-Pot" which has a smorgasbord of flavors that is as unique as it is a melting pot of welcome flavors. For those that like raw stuff, the steamers and clams were very fresh and clean....My kids loved the Garlic bread with cheese, and Buffalo wings which are better than most other restaurants not specializing in Seafood! The homemade Sangria hit the spot for adults looking to enjoy a good time, while the kids were able to enjoy the rarer flavors of Coke and Sprite with Cane sugar. The waitress and owners (John and Venus) are friendly and helpful with advising on what's the freshest catch of the day and what's new on the menu for those who haven't been there in a while. With convenient parking and a location smack dab in the middle of freeport's Nautical Mile, I look forward to coming here time and ago to get my fix of fresh seafood. PS. I always forget to take pictures of the food, I'll hopefully remember to post the "Pan Pot" next time :P

We used a groupon to go to the Crabshack. It reminded me of a diner. The place was packed and people were constantly coming and going. The wait staff was busy but attentive. The food was good and plentiful. My husband had the salmon and I had the broiled scallops and rice. Both entrees came with a salad. The only problem I had was that the bathroom really needed attention. Otherwise, it was a great evening!

Not a fancy place but good simple meals and reasonable price, steamers, fresh fish, chowders, soft shell crab all year round. Friendly staff.

A small quaint little restaurant on the nautical mile. Not very fancy but the food is good especially my favorite which are the Ipswich clams. We had the mussels which were very small but decent and the sauce was tasty. The fishermans platter was good. The service was wonderful. Will go back again soon!
