Older hotel . Built in 90s. Showing its age. Rooms are outdated. Worn. Exec lounge is small with Fairfield Inn type breakfast. Dark parking garage. Newly renovated lobby. In heart of Chinatown NYC. Only stay if you want to be in or near chinese restaurants or stores.
Thank you for the service very clean
It was great, that was my second time where our party was held. Food is great, parking is safe and charged minimal amount, Hoping next year we can book once again
They are renovating the hotel, which we did not see any note about it when booking. On the website it said airport shuttle, then to come find out they don’t offer one. They placed us in a handicap room which consisted of a shower head and bath downspout? Why was that not removed if there was no tub? The bathroom got soaked when taking a shower. When arriving to the room, there was feces in the toilet. I thought they were following Covid protocol for cleaning? We found dirty towels with hair embedded in the towels. Eek. The door to the bathroom did not lock either. On the website it listed complimentary water and there was nothing in the room. It was an upsetting visit.
This hotel is recovering from major flood damage. We returned here after many years. We first stayed here right after it first opened. Everything was perfect then so when we planned this trip, we decided to stay with our "old friend," The hotel itself was fine, the service was limited but tolerable. Our problem was that the area had changed to something xenophobic. I am a New Yorker and this area was my home. I expected a more inclusive experience and I received that treatment in other parts of New York City. I regret to say that while I do not hold the hotel responsible in any way for the Xenophobia I experienced, it would be a disservice to my fellow travelers not to report it
Professional, friendly staff (Matthew and Allen were extra helpful) and well appointed, well maintained rooms. Very convenient location off the 7. Lots of great food anywhere in the neighborhood. There is construction taking place right now and it was a little hard to find the hotel at night, but once complete, I'm sure it will be even more incredible inside!
Hotel room wz very comfortable, when we finally got to it. Something told me to check to see if it was under construction because of the rate. It really wasn’t low enough for the experience. It’s under construction , which isn’t the worst thing. It’s their crappy service. When I called the hotel, prior to booking, that would have been a good time to indicate that the entrance is on Roosevelt, not 39th Avenue which is the address given. We drove around the area 15 minutes, running up a much higher fare, trying to find the entrance. When we finally found the entrance, the door man watched us, 2 middle aged women, struggle with our bags w/out lifting a finger! He told us where to go w/o assisting us to the elevator. Check in wz on the 7th floor. Unfriendly, stoned faced personnel checked us in. I inquired about a later check out given that our plane wz departing later in the afternoon. They were soooo reluctant to concede us another hour even though we’d booked their airport shuttle for 1:30. I wanted to scream at her, “Stop pretending you’re even at half capacity w/ an expectation of full capacity on a Sunday in Queens in October!”Hotel room is large by NY standards, beds comfortable, room clean, water pressure excellent even though we were on the 10th floor. Unfortunately, we were placed near an elevator so my sister, light sleeper that she is, didn’t rest well. Inevitably, I find myself pondering is this the treatment reserved for Black guests? I came here tired. Probably gonna leave here, still tired.
I’ve been a member of the Bonvoy rewards program for more than 15 years. I have seen all levels of the hotel line, and I am very satisfied most of the time. However, my last visit to Sheraton LaGuardia East (Oct 8-10) was a huge disappointment. Let me first start by saying some of the issues I am about to list have nothing to do with the hotel or the staff, some things are/were totally out of there control. First issue. The hotel is undergoing a major overhaul to the lobby and common areas. There is no front entrance, check in is done on the Seventh Floor. You must drive your vehicle to valet parking and then ride the elevator to the seventh floor, then take another elevator to your assigned room floor. The hotel website makes no mention of this. The valet process was for the most part smooth and easy, but there was an event held in the hotel on Saturday night. The influx of event guest made it extremely difficult to retrieve my car. Guest for the event were extremely rude and persistent with being taken care of first. I would have liked to have seen the paying hotel guests given more consideration and perhaps limit the number of event guest My wife and I stayed in room #1502. Upon entering the first thing we noticed was a horrible musty smell. Excessive moisture type of smell. Turning up the A/C didn’t help. We were forced to stay in this room because the hotel was completely booked. The smell was so bad we had to purchase air fresheners and a huge can of Lysol to combat the smell. I’m sure this was not good for our health As you can see from the pictures, the wallpaper was peeling from the walls in several spots. I believe this was due to the excessive moisture in the room. The carpet was thread bare and worn in several spots, and the toilet paper roll holder was hanging on with one screw. This is certainly not a Category IV hotel that Bonvy advertised. Easily one of the most disappointing stays I have ever had. This hotel is also located in the “Korea Town” section of Flushing Queens. Great restaurants, shopping and the Korean Culture. With this comes incredible traffic. Getting to and from the hotel was extremely time consuming and frustrating. All in all, I give this hotel two stars. And those stars are for the staff that worked very hard to make my stay comfortable, despite a run down musty smelling room, and overpriced inconvenient valet parking experience, and complicated troublesome check in procedure. The hotel needs to immediately alert would be guests about the hotels incredibly inconvenient construction as well, and the price should reflect the inconvenience incurred Never Again.
In need of a hotel near Citified, I spent three nights at the Shearaton LaGuardia East Hotel and left satisfied. I'll tell you why. The why is this: the room was, when I checked in, clean. The bed was comfortably firm and there were several uncomfortably mushy pillows. The bathroom was okay with a flimsy plastic toilet seat. The soap/shampoo/towel situation was fine. The single-serve coffee set up was solid. There was no room service but I scored a coffee refill from house keeping when I saw them in the hall way. The room was quiet and dark at night. I paid for an overpriced breakfast; the oatmeal was fine but they should not put unripe fruit (in this case, the honeydew) into the fresh fruit bowl. It's bad enough you're paying $6 for a dollar of fruit; at least it should be ripe. The airport shuttle was on time and had me back at the airport in minutes. If my needs return me to this part of Queens, I'd return here. Probably.
First time staying at this location to attend the US Open. We will always stay at this property now because of the location, but most of all because of the staff. There was a gentleman by the name of Rafael, who I believe was a sort of concierge. He was very helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. The front desk personnel were also very helpful and courteous. Hotel management should consider themselves lucky to have these employees.
