We were visiting from Atlanta where everyone always assumes the best Korean food can be found, but I politely disagree. Northern Boulevard, with all its humble storefronts where some of the best and tastiest hidden treasures can be found. I thought I knew where the best jjajangmyun, or black bean noodles, could be found, but in the time I've lived outside of New York, this noodle house has apparently and recently gained the reputation of the best jjajangmyun in town. There are tons of combination platters in case you're craving a variety of the most popular plates (with cleverly sectioned off bowls that keep the two entrees separate), but I went straight for my tried and true order of black bean noodles and especially appreciated that there was a vegetarian variety for non-meat eaters like me. I've never seen whole broccoli florets in my black bean sauce but I appreciated the healthful touch. Plus everyone else at the table who ordered the regular kind seemed to be gazing enviously at my verdant pops of veg.The noodles are fresh, with just the slightest toothsome quality, and the sauce was just as delicious as my parents promised it'd be. We also ordered some of the spicy battered shrimp, which ended up being a little softer than I'd like, but when a dish is so saucy, it's hard to maintain a crunchy batter. This was our very first meal after our plane touched down in New York, and it'll likely be where I have every first meal henceforth when I visit.
Love this place. We come here a lot, sometimes twice a week. Their ginseng chicken soup is the best. My favorite is their beef noodle soup.
This restaurant is very delicious but the reason why the rating is low because owner's attitude is very bad. one day I paid in cash she overcharge without giving receipt. Second time I paid in credit card and I tried confirming the receipt by taking it off. The lady rudely asked why I did that. Food is delicious but customer service is uncomfortable.
love the seafood pancake and the spicy seafood chopped noodle
I always like coming here. They have great homemade and authentic Korean food. We got also got Mandu and kimchi to take home, love the kimchi. The Mandu is slightly overpriced and understuffed but the taste is great.
amazing malatang at 158st in flushing !!!! i dont have to go to main street flushing to have malatang !!amazing kimchi mandu!
The Seafood Noodle was great ^^
We were promptly warn not to get the wild sesame noodles because of the hype from YouTuber and reviewers. However, I was amazed by how tasty and light it was. It reminded me of sesame paste noodles but without the over bearing sesame smell, the broth has a sweet consistency, and a good texture. If I were to come back next time, Ill add a little more spice to the broth just to get a kick.
I have to be honest that the food isn’t bad. However, from the two times I visited, the service is really bad and I’m very honest about this. The first time I ordered the seafood noodle soup and found out it’s a lot for me to finish, so the second time I politely asked if there is a small size. She rolled her eyes and was being very rude said NO. Regardless of this, too much to say, the overall experience is just so not pleasant. She always gives me the feeling that she is annoyed for me being there. I wouldn’t go back anymore because she ruined my appetite.
