The strawberry limenade was very good, I would get that drink again! The walnut pastry was like small little snacks for the road and good as a gift
Taro bubble tea (great); walnut snacks (okay); red bean taiyaki (bad). We got sick from eating the taiyaki, which was also unnecessarily greasy. Also not sure why it takes 20min to make (which is what they warn you when you order the taiyaki). Also, this is a Korean cafe with a Korean menu… but why they are calling it a taiyaki (Japanese) is confusing.
I was quite disappointed. For starters, the red bean paste walnuts in the reviews attracted me to Cocohodo as I have never seen anything like this anywhere in New York City. I was so amazed at what the menu offered because everything sounded so delicious that I asked the cashier what was the most popular items at the restaurant. Well, she wasn’t as friendly as I thought she would be. Just simply pointed a finger to her right assuming she pointed to the wall, but nothing was there. Turns out, the popular items was on a paper placed inside the display case. So, I ordered the walnuts and two shaved ices. I liked how they packaged the shaved ice for me to take home to enjoy. The walnuts were still warm by the time I got home to try but they only taste good warmed up. The shaved ice lacked flavor from the add-ons. I’ve had my share of shaved ice from Filipino restaurants (halo-halo), Vietnamese restaurants, and even Chinese restaurants (Hi-Tea), and those tasted better despite the innovative ways of combining certain food items together to put over shaved ice. Anyway, would I go back? Sure. Maybe a nice person would make the shaved ice tolerable, but it wouldn’t be my go-to place for shaved ice at the moment.
You can taste freshly baked walnut cookies at Cocohodo, and they are so delicious!! The atmosphere is cozy and cute, and the coffee is delicious!!
The yogurt smoothies are bomb. Just like the ones I had in Korea. Can’t find this taste anywhere else in nyc!!
Amazing Taiyaki Mochi. Very good pastry and filling. Must have for sure, you won't regret it. The citrus tea was pretty good as well.
I love their shaved ice dessert. The ice is the finest ice you will ever eat. I always get the green tea while friend gets the berry. Of course, you need to try the walnut pastry = cocohodo. Also the crew are so nice and polite.
They make sure to infuse whatever you got into the ice, next time I’ll try boba because the desert was so good.
Decent. Wish I could get 1 instead of 2 taiyakis though
Sooo....the iceys are delicious. The bubble tea was okay..... But the tray we were served on still had small seeds left over from the previous user. We didn't realize until after we finished and we're cleaning off the tray to return to the counter but it was gross.
