One suggestion: if you are going there for lunch, be sure to arrive before 11:40am at least to be able to get a table. And if you’re 20-ish in the queue and they tell you no availability, remember to ask about the table where you need to take off your shoes (basically 炕). I do think online reservation will make the whole experience much better as well as their service. As for the hot pot itself, I love the variety of choices. And to be honest the spicy broth did not amaze me, but the mushroom broth was very umami and savory!
Difficult to get a table on weekends but once you’re in, you’re golden! The smell from outside drew me to this place and once inside, the aroma is even stronger. The interior is so beautifully decorated and is way different than any other hot pot restaurant. You can get a 9 grid hotpot but we opted for the two split pot. The 9 grid is the same flavor for each section and it looks nice but we wanted a spicy and non spicy side. The menu is large and has everything you could want in a hot pot. Everything tasted fresh and came out promptly. I especially liked the cumin beef plate and the tofu strips. I even really enjoyed the grapefruit yakult drink. It was made fresh and really cooled me down from the spicy food! The sauce bar had everything you need but didn’t end up using much of it since the pot was so flavorful already.Probably my favorite hot pot place around here and will return again!
One of the most popular hotpot places! I came many times indeed! Service is good as always! It’s deserved to be waiting!First time try this chili beef {双椒牛肉} OMG! Super spicy~ ?
Both spicy broth and tomato broth are amazing. The ingredients are fresh. I would recommend going there on weekdays to avoid long line of waiting. You could also go on their website to join their waiting list before heading there. ?
Authentic Szechuan Spicy Hotpot! It’s now on my weekly visit list! The beef is the best! It doesn’t matter if it’s the toro beef or other slices, all are tender and spicy. For me I’d always choose the beef with milk. Other dishes such as the goose blood and deep-fried crispy pork belly are worth a try.A reservation will be good since there are always lots of people unless during a week day visit. Jointing a waitlist is possible starting from 5pm but it will take approximately 1.5hr to be seated during weekend.
Fantastic hotpot restaurant in an area full of them! I went with 3 friends for lunch and out of enthusiasm, we over-ordered - one order of any single item on the menu, whether meat, vegetable or otherwise, will be plenty for up to 4 people! This visit we enjoyed mushroom broth on one side and their spiciest broth on the other side. We added such ingredients as enokitake mushroom, bean sprouts, noodles, squid, shrimp dumplings, and pork. We kept it pretty basic, but there were more exotic additions such as bull frog, ox tongue, or duck gizzard! The ambience was great, I loved walking into what felt like an ancient Chinese village or town. Service was good, we never had to wait for more water or refills of broth. We didn't have any alcohol this visit, but the drinks looked very reasonably priced for NYC - $3-4 for beer for example.Definitely returning next time I'm in Queens!
So good! We got the tomato broth and mild spicy broth, tomato was so good. Milky beef was also yummy, recommend trying it.Loved the design of the restaurant, service was great, waitress was so helpful. They also have little drawstring bags to put your coat in so it doesn’t smell, very cute and thoughtful. There’s a sauce bar for you to make your own sauce. We came for lunch, expected the wait to be 2hrs but we got seated in about an hour. Nice thing about this area is that there’s plenty to do while you wait.
Expect a long wait but it's worth it for excellent hotpot in a unique and comfortable environment. So many options for the hot pot but trust your waiter and you'll be in good hands. If you like spice, this will satisfy.
The decor is of some old style houses in China. We got on the waitlist around 4:20pm and our table was ready around 6:30pm. They won't seat you until your full party is present. The food is like any other hot pot place but the soup base is what makes the place good.
My favorite hot pot spot in Flushing! The decor looks like you step foot right into a Chinese village. Their tomato broth is amazing, and mushroom soup is pretty good too. Definitely get the milky beef, it's so tender and delicious! But sometimes they run out, but have many other beef options. Service is friendly and fantastic, our server spoke really good English and had great recommendations. Remember to Use the Google Waitlist option and get on the wait list ~4 hours in advance, and you'll be good to go. If you just show up, you'll be waiting forever.
