I went to this restaurant for my friends birthday. the cook took a very long time to come over and was only able to cook our rice before the power went out. we sat there for a while waiting for the power to return which never did. The whole time the staff did an awful job of keeping us updated and completely abandoned us. we decided to leave after the awful service and they charged us all 5 dollars for just eating the rice and because there was no power would only let us pay with cash. overall not a great experience and the staff did not make it any better.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere ? ? ?. Service was great Susan was our server and was very attentive and helpful describing the dishes.
Great ambience. Food was good. Tad bit on the pricey side if you consider the price to the portion served, but affordable (entree range $25-$30). Server was cordial but didn't get the warm friendly vibe. It would a great date night place, but not so much for a family dinner with kids (solely based on the vibe I felt). But for night away from kids or just friends hanging out, this would be a great place.
This restaurant has a section for hibachi dining and another section for dining and ordering off the menu. The hibachi part is quite good, but I did table seating on Saturday night and had a terrible experience. The food was cold and overcooked, the vegetables were gritty, and we had a waitress who was angry and rude. There are many Japanese restaurants on Long Island so I will never go to Izumi again.
Extremely pleasant environment. Very good menu well prepared. Lots of fun and entertainment from the chefs. Food is excellent with generous portions. Overall a fun place to have a group dinner in a pleasant environment with very good food. Prices are reasonable. Kids love it.There is also a separate bar area for a pleasant drink and separate rooms for private groups.Two deducts:.very fast high pressure service.a language barrier with any special instructions like on food allergies.
I'm a regular there for the sushi dinner at least once a week. The food is excellent The fish is fresh I can tell because I'm a really big fish eater.I usually do takeouts but I do dine in sometimes with friends. The hibachi room is very busy so it must be good as well
3.5For some odd reason, there are 6 sushi places on or off Jericho Trpk between Elwood Rd and Commack Rd. That's gotta be some sort of per Capita record. And they are all decent.This one is good. We went on an off night, so the half that is Hibachi was empty - we did not have to endure the noise and perpetual birthday gongs.Sushi was good.
It has a very nice atmosphere! Friendly servers, food is excellent!
As soon as we arrived to the Izumi restaurant, we were bombarded with waiters pressuring us to order every 2 mins. At least eight waiters approached us within ten minutes. They were very annoyed,and impatient. We were never welcomed. They brought me the wrong entree, refusing to change it at first. I was Still charged 20 percent for it. The other dishes were terrible. They were cold, and had no taste whatsoever. The restaurant was freezing cold. Terrible experience overall. I will never return.
Best local hibachi! And you gotta try the extra large drinks.
