Have been very happy with past visits, but we were there last Sunday and the food was disappointing. I ordered the hash and eggs, asked for eggs over easy (because it’s all about those yolks mixing in with the hash!) but the eggs were over cooked, not a drop of runny yolk. My hubby and a friend both ordered omelets and they, too, were dry and over cooked. This left me to wonder if there is new kitchen staff who still need to work out the kinks (although, seriously, it’s not rocket science to cook an egg properly.) I will still recommend Poked Yolk based on past experiences and hope my next visit won’t be disappointing.
Gluten free food is delicious and there are many choices! Best Hollandaise sauce ever ( besides my own)
We have driven by the Poked Yoke and saw some great reviews so we had to stop in and check it out for ourselves! It was a bit of a lying on arrival which is generally a good sign of the product available. There seem to be plenty of help and we're promptly greeted. We receded within 15 minutes. There is a decent variety on the menu with monthly specials. I had hoped to get the cinnamon apple French toast but they did not have that available this trip. But there were other tasty options. The home fries were the best we've had.The restaurant itself is in a steel strip plaza. Pretty clean overall but could use some enhancements. The HVAC overhead vents could use some cleaning etc. But we were there for the food and that was exceptional.Hint:. If you want to sit in an area where it's cooler, sit along the outside walls as the air conditioning is directed towards the wall where it will fall down on you to keep you super cool. If you want to stay warmer, I would sit more towards the middle of a restaurant.
We were visiting in area. This was recommended to us by a local. It was awesome. We went back next day with 4 additional family members. Real good. Real good. Great service. Prices very reasonable. Wish we lived close.
After not being able to find a Mother's Day buffet close to home, I found this while searching on line. While not a buffet, all the reviews were positive and I decided to take my wife for a drive (about 45 minutes or so) and check this place out. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately and our server came over right away to take our drink order then came back a few minutes later to get our food order. Considering how busy they were, it was a reasonable wait, the servings were a decent size and well priced. Our server was also very pleasant. Will definitely eat there again when in the area.
The Poked Yolk is the most well rounded dinner I have ever been. My waitress Amy was extremely friendly, with a wonderful attitude and a beautiful smile. I received my order in under ten minutes! The corned beef hash is the best I’ve ever had!! The service was quick, and done without delay. If you haven’t come here you are missing out. The Poked Yolk has definitely earned a regular client (me). Oh and don’t forget the “inhouse” blackberry jelly, you’ll thank me later.
First time visit with my wife & mother-in-law @ 9am on a Sunday morning. Very busy, needed to wait maybe 5 min as turnover was moving quickly. Service was super. Food was excellent & came out quickly, had the signature “Poked Yoke” dish, great portions without being “too much” food where I needed a nap afterward. Maybe a bit corny on my part but liked the dishes & mugs. The dishes we square which helped with the just-right food portion & the mugs were bigger than standard diner size which allowed for perfect amount of coffee without needed rapid refills and screwing up my sugar to cream ratio. Its the little things :)
It is a very nice traditional breakfast place! When I go to Poked Yolk I either get their Original Waffle or Buttermilk Pancakes. Both of those things are always consistently made and tasty! The only thing I don’t like about Poked Yolk is the parking. They should have a bigger parking lot. Aside from that, this place is great!
The food here never disappoints, everything is cooked to perfection and the taste is great! Their poached eggs are awesome! Highly recommended.
We've been here a number of times before. The food is usually of high quality with some unique offerings. This time my wife had a breakfast sandwich and I went with biscuits and gravy. She was very happy with the sandwich. I was only so-so. The biscuits were fine but the gravy was not as satisfying. Not much body or sausage flavor ... next time I'll go with something else. Service was excellent. Friendly, not intrusive, kept our coffee filled. We'll be back.
